My brand is KIRA and if you look my account up here on the subreddit you’ll see my journey, you’ll see the reflective vinyl blanks and the mediocre screen printed T shirts that I started off with back in 2022.
You’ll see my photoshoots and the pieces that I made get better over time, where I found my groove and where i solidified my brand image. You’ll see when I made something good and bad by this reddit’s standards and you’ll see some of my first supporters comment under my post.
But no matter what, I showed up everyday to be a better designer. I learned garment construction, I learned pattern making, I learned the markets, and I learned how to run a brand as a business while still keeping the same message from the very start.
Because I showed up everyday, someone noticed, and that was the director of marketing at Complex. He reached out to learn more about my journey and invited me before ComplexCon even had its venue and creative directors.
So if you are where I was 4 years ago, keep trying and keep going. You never know who’s keeping up with your story. I’ll be attending the convention as the smallest streetwear brand there and best believe i’m going to post how I did on this reddit the following days after.
If you’re interested in seeing the video proof of everything, i’ll be dropping videos of my journey to complexcon on my instagram next week
I exclusively either upcycle or use deadstock for majority of
my pieces, this piece in particular is wrath from my most recent collection called the seven deadly sins.
my first piece Greed, was made by stitching different leftover jeans into a sheet then treating it with stone, chemicals, and more.
just released the photoshoot for my new piece wrath+ which will be the next addition for my collection, lmk what you think
finally released the photoshoot with the shorts on body, i’m happy with the quality on how things came out and i’m cooking up our video formatted content (which will look better then the photos tbh)
lmk how you feel about the shoot and the concept of the collection
Today I just previewed Wrath+, so far i’ve covered Greed, Greed+, and Wrath
lmk how you feel about the piece. The material itself is made from an ultra comfortable italian wool blend which I think is more comfortable to wear than the usual brushed cotton knit and has a higher gsm which gives a nice weighted feel and finish.
releasing a full photoshoot this week so it can be seen on body
A 2 piece denim set inspired by michael jackson
the bottom piece of a denim set inspired by michael jackson’s smooth criminal look. The full outfit releases next week
