Finding the original manufacturer

Hey all,

I've gone down a rabbit hole trying to find the original manufacturer of Zen Magnets so I can get my hands on some Zen-quality magnets to replace the ones I lost many years ago.

While digging through Zen's legal documents with the CPSC I found the manufacturer was listed Bestway Magnet Corp. located in Ningbo, China.

Source: https://www.federalregister.gov/documents/2012/08/10/2012-19693/zen-magnets-llc-complaint

My question is, has anyone ordered from this supplier and is able to confirm the quality? They're wholesale only with a minimum order quantity of 10 sets, but I wanted to see if anyone knows about the quality before I commit to a purchase from them.

UPDATE: I’ve been in contact with bestway and their standard tolerance is +/- 0.1mm which is obviously far too large compared to what we are familiar with. They told me they can do tighter tolerance for a higher price. They also mentioned N35 strength but I will enquire if they can produce N38 like original Zen magnets. I will update again when I have more info.

UPDATE 2: They've quoted me $0.06 USD per N38 sphere at a tolerance of +/- 0.02mm (Neoballs tolerance). I may proceed with a small sample and will make another post regarding the quality. Unfortunately I don't have a set of original zen magnets anymore to compare with.

Tenancy Services unable to locate bond

Hi all,

About a month ago I vacated a rental property, and upon submitting my bond refund form, tenancy services has notified me that they are unable to locate the bond.

When I originally moved in to that property in March 2025, I paid my bond along with one weeks rent in advance to my property manager. The property manager then lodged the bond with tenancy services on my behalf.

Looking back now, I never received a confirmation email from tenancy services to confirm the bond was lodged. Yet in my new rental I'm in now, I received a confirmation shortly after moving in.

Tenancy services has asked for a bunch of information from my property manager to help identify the bond, which they have fully complied with and provided, however it seems the investigation isn't progressing. It seems my property manager has lodged the bond and tenancy services has misplaced the funds. My property manager claims they've experienced issues with tenancy services and bond lodgement since tenancy services switched to a new system in the last year or so.

If they can't locate my bond, what are my options? This is not an insignificant amount of money for me (~$2500).

Any advice would be greatly appreciated.

Sharesies cancelling limit buy orders

Hi all,

Recently I sold some stock on sharesies, then placed a limit buy for the same stock at a lower price.

The buy order disappeared the next day after placing it, so I placed it again. Then I found both have been cancelled. I ended up missing out on my buy order filling as the price dipped after my order had been automatically cancelled.

Any idea why this is happening and if there is a way around it?

Cheers
