Following the recent solar eclipse, we have another great event coming up later this month. On the night of August 27–28, a very deep partial lunar eclipse will be visible across much of the Americas, Europe, Africa, and portions of western Asia.
Because this eclipse reaches about 96% partial coverage, the Moon may take on a noticeably dark red or copper appearance near maximum, making it an excellent target to observe and photograph.
To help everyone prepare, we have also put together a newly updated Lunar Eclipse Guide for DWARF devices. The guide covers recommended setup, planning, tracking, and imaging tips to help you get your DWARF ready before the eclipse begins.
As always, exact eclipse times and visibility will depend on your location, so check your local timing ahead of the event and give yourself plenty of time to get set up.
*remember that the DWARF Mini will use the "ASTRO" filter. Make sure you review any notes and adjustments that relate to your MINI device. The DWARF 3 can use the VIS or ASTRO filter.
Due to an unforeseen technical issues, the LIVE video has now been restored, and everyone can watch it when time permits

This project was backed in July 2025, with an estimated delivery date of December 2025. It is now August 2026, and you can probably guess how well that has gone.
This morning, I discovered that the project creator had removed me from the project and initiated a refund. I never requested a refund and had not reached the point where I intended to do so. However, I had made it abundantly clear, both to the creator and anyone willing to apply basic logic and common sense, that the person running this campaign has several previous projects that remain unfulfilled.
(I also feel this removal/refund was out of spite or an attempt to silence me and remove my comments/questions from the project comment board.)
Those projects have followed many of the same patterns: repeated delays, vague explanations, deflection, defensive responses, and little evidence that finished products actually exist.
Today brought another unsurprising “surprise” update. The books that were supposedly shipped have apparently been sitting in storage in China because the creator lacked the proper documentation to export them. Storage fees have allegedly accumulated, and backers outside North America may now be expected to pay additional shipping charges or fees.
It is the same song and dance all over again.
After patiently sitting through dozens of updates without seeing credible proof of a completed physical product, I submitted the following information to Kickstarter and asked them to investigate the campaign, the creator, and the pattern involving their other outstanding projects.
I also added earlier this week four additional projects by the same person under another "business name" that also had a varying level of completions, or lack of.
"Render Wave" business name
If anyone else has experience with this Project, or any other project listed, please do chime in.
Hello Kickstarter Support,
I am requesting that Kickstarter review the following campaigns associated with Andrew Stibor, operating under Red Right Hand Publishing and Playbug Books, due to what appears to be a repeated pattern of substantial crowdfunding, missed fulfillment deadlines, prolonged delays, and little or no verifiable evidence that the promised physical products have been completed or shipped.
Across five identified campaigns, approximately CA $1,205,407 has been raised:
Forbidden Arts Minis Advent Calendar — CA $180,779; estimated delivery May 2025; not delivered.
Pixels Forever — CA $260,390; estimated delivery July 2023; not delivered.
Pixels Forever Volume 2 — CA $187,051; estimated delivery October 2024; not delivered.
Flesh and Steel / Red Right Hand Publishing — CA $148,382; estimated delivery June 2024; not delivered.
The NES-ential Celebration / Playbug Books — CA $428,805; estimated delivery December 2025; physical product not delivered.
Most or all of these projects are now years beyond their estimated delivery dates, while hundreds of backer comments continue to request basic information regarding production, printing, shipping, and fulfillment. In several instances, updates have become infrequent or are restricted to backers, and publicly available information has not provided clear photographic or documentary evidence demonstrating that completed physical products exist in the quantities represented.
The most concerning issue is the apparent pattern: additional campaigns continued to raise significant amounts of money while earlier projects associated with the same individual remained unfulfilled. The most recent Playbug Books campaign raised more than CA $428,000, yet backers continue to request proof that the physical books were actually printed and assembled. Recent explanations have referenced shipping or freight problems, but publicly available updates have still not provided meaningful evidence establishing the location or completion status of the physical inventory.
I understand that project delays alone do not establish fraud or theft. However, given the cumulative amount of money involved, the number of overdue campaigns connected to the same individual, and the continued absence of fulfillment, I believe this activity warrants review by Kickstarter's Trust & Safety or appropriate investigative team.
I respectfully ask Kickstarter to examine these campaigns collectively rather than as isolated delayed projects and determine whether the creator has complied with Kickstarter's obligations regarding the use of pledged funds, truthful communication with backers, and good-faith fulfillment efforts.
Thank you for reviewing this matter.

There has been a lot of discussion lately about the new DWARFLAB device following what was teased at NEAF earlier this year.
At this point, DWARFLAB has not officially announced specifications, features, pricing, availability, or a release date. Articles, screenshots, third-party reports, and personal guesses should not be presented as confirmed information.
Speculation is understandable, but once rumors begin getting reposted, assumptions can quickly start being treated as facts. That creates confusion and unrealistic expectations for something that has not yet been formally announced.
We ask everyone to clearly label speculation for what it is and avoid presenting rumored specifications, pricing, capabilities, or release timelines as credible information.
It is likely that we will hear more directly from DWARFLAB within the next month or two, so there should not be a need to rely on rumors or unofficial sources. When DWARFLAB is ready to share details, the information will come through their official channels and can then be discussed here openly.
Until then, let’s keep the subreddit focused on helping users with the DWARF products currently available rather than turning unconfirmed rumors into expectations.
And yes...it's called DRACO :) And yes... the website referenced earlier was in error and wasn't supposed to be shared to the public
Anyone want to “STAR PARTY”?

It’s apparent there is a server disruption or other unknown issue affecting logins, activations and Stellar Studio processing.
Please Stand By for further updates. I have notified DWARF LAB
Edit #1. They have been notified and have acknowledged the issue being reported. They cannot resolve it at the moment since it’s very early AM in their time zone. There is no timetable to resolve the issue. Please have patience.
Sorry I had to remove a few posts that kept sharing the same message. Nothing can be done about it for the moment until they investigate the issue.
Welcome to the DWARFLAB Subreddit! 👋
Whether you’re joining us from one of the DWARFLAB Facebook communities or you’ve found us on your own, welcome! We’re glad you’re here.
This subreddit is another place for DWARF users to ask questions, share images, discuss techniques, troubleshoot issues, and help each other get the most out of their devices.
We hope it continues the same friendly, educational, and collaborative spirit that has made our Facebook communities such a great resource.
If you’re coming over from Facebook, there’s no need to create a separate post just to say you’ve joined.
We appreciate the enthusiasm, but we’d like to keep the feed focused on questions, astrophotography, tips, tutorials, feature discussions, and other content that benefits the entire community.
Feel free to jump right into the conversation by:
Sharing an image you’ve captured with your DWARF device.
Asking a question if you need help.
Offering advice or answering someone else’s question.
Sharing techniques, workflows, or discoveries you’ve made.
Thank you for being part of the community. We look forward to learning, sharing, and exploring the night sky together!
The intent of some of the information I’m going to share over the next couple weeks is focused on beginners and casual users of the DWARF devices.
One of the most overlooked factors in astrophotography isn’t your camera or telescope, it’s where your target is in the sky.
This graphic illustrates an object’s altitude (viewing angle) above the horizon, from 0° (the horizon) to 90° (directly overhead/zenith).
Unlike azimuth, which describes direction (North, East, South, West), altitude tells you how high your target is above the horizon.
As a general rule, the 30°–80° range provides the best balance between image quality and tracking performance.
Below about 30°, you’re imaging through much more of Earth’s atmosphere, which increases haze, light pollution, atmospheric turbulence, and reduces contrast.
Above 80°, image quality is still excellent, but some telescope mounts can have more difficulty tracking or framing targets close to the zenith.
This isn’t a strict rule, many excellent images are captured outside this range, but if you have the option, planning your sessions when your target is between 30° and 80° altitude will often produce cleaner data and better final results.
A simple question to ask yourself; Do you normally wait for a target to climb higher before starting a session, or do you begin imaging as soon as it clears the horizon?
2026 Solar Eclipse Guide
As promised, the DWARF LAB team have updated their Solar Guide to help users plan and prepare for the upcoming eclipse that will swing through and be visible primarily for our Western Europe, United Kingdom and Northern Africa users.
For our first time planners, please look through the guide to get hints and tips on how to use your DWARF 3 or DWARF Mini devices. May other uses in the community have past experiences they can share when it was experienced in the United States not too long ago.
If you have any technical or hardware related questions, please do share and the DWARFLAB team will respond.
**This guide applies to both the D3 and Mini**

This game is STILL ENTERTAINING after 10 years and hundreds of hours of play time. A very rare and masterfully done open world experience.
A couple quick tips If you find yourself getting hacked and unaware of the hackers location.....
Before anything else.... be mindful you won't be aware at first if someone is "in" your game, but if you suspect something when odd things start happening, all you have to do is open your in game phone menu and look through the multiplayer options, go to friends/players list and if someone is in your game. It should be the first picture/name top left on the list. It will identify their gamertag, picture and in game rank. If you try to start a mission or possibly fast travel, it may pop up or indicate a general location on the map showing the purple haze circle. Anywhere within 100 meters of the center of the circle could be your "hacker". You can use that to your advantage by casually narrowing down a search area, or use that to bait your hacker to a place on the map where its advantageous to you and not them.
I personally take anywhere from 20-30 mins to follow (or stalk) someone and figure out their pattern, or they plan to go to a mission area. I'll travel ahead and setup, then hack them in an area that offers me protection or the ability to hide from them.
