The Edit: Kimpton Hotel Vintage, Portland OR (Apr ‘26)

There was another CSR cardmember that previously posted about this property. Unfortunately it was deleted as I found it useful. This’ll be my take.

I stayed 4 nights total, split between 2 nonconsecutive reservations.

I paid a gross amount of $1064, so averaging $532/reservation or $266/night.

Deducting the CSR credits of $750 (The Edit $250*2 and Chase Hotel $250), my net spend was $314 ($78.50/night). An amazing value.

I also stayed at The Benson across the street, paid $166/night. I usually stay at Hilton properties, so this will color my perspective.

- The daily breakfast credit of $30/person at Il Solito was quite adequate.

- The $100/stay property credit was (edit: used at) Bacchus Bar was more than sufficient since we didn’t drink.

For food, seat yourself, order at the bar; very limited table service (Il Solito is actually the kitchen, you may notice food similarities.)

- Early check in and late check out was honored. Utilized each one once.

- Welcome amenity was canned Portland water and Lindt chocolates.

- IHG Platinum Elite benefits was also honored and stay/points credited accordingly.

- The $10/daily credit from the Guest Amenity Fee was icing on the cake.

Issues: We had 3 rooms; one of the rooms we stayed in only a few hours, found out late the shower hot water was lukewarm.

Water from the sink was hot, so it seemed like anti-scald valve was set too low? Maintenance had left for the day. First time in my life I’ve had to switch rooms.

Second room we stayed in, the bathroom door was unable to be opened fully as it would strike the toilet.

Other parts of the third room were a bit worn. This doesn’t normally bother me. Most egregious was the reglazed tub in the bathroom was beyond cracked.

A/C in the third room was also quite audible, but I am a heavy sleeper.

Overall an enjoyable experience: rooms were satisfactory, food was great, an amazing value. However, without the CSR credits, I’d probably stay at my normal Hiltons.

Edit: added “used at” on how. $100 property credit was used.

Edit 2: There’s self serve potable water on the 2nd floor. The dispensers are similar to the ones you may see at airports after security.

Edit 3: Free wifi speeds ranged from 20-32 Mbps download, 6-17 Mbps upload

Angelo’s Burgers on Artesia/Marquardt

I drove past the old Boy’s Hamburgers at the intersection of Artesia and Marquardt earlier today.

Saw a sign, it looks like Angelo’s Burgers will be opening in its place. https://angelosburgersca.com

I’m glad someone is taking its place, seems like the place has been empty for far too long.
