I'm choosing to be in the same room as my ex abuser. Any tips?
So I just got invited to a class reunion that unfortunately involves my ex abuser/🍇'ist. We dated for 3 years after High School. At first I thought to myself "Hell no! I'm not going", but then I received a message from his highschool gf who was also abused and 🍇'd by him (who also happens to be my current partners cousin). We decided that we both wanna show up together as an act of solidarity and show that we aren't scared of him. When we dated me, he told me she was crazy, so i'm only assuming he told his current wife (whom he cheated on me with for months) that we are crazy, too. This is really our only sense of justice in a way, but we are both scared we will chicken out or have a panic attack. A handful of our classmates know the situation and would help out if he tried approaching either of us, but it's still scary. Any pointers or tips on how to be brave or at least not crumble in fear? Or should we just not bother even going?
