"taking my eyes off for the day"
getting lasik next month and have become suddenly deeply emotional about my ability to 'turn off' my eyes.
when i am tired and ready to go to sleep, i just take my glasses off and the "blur" from my surroundings exhausts me enough so i can drift off to sleep. tired of reading? take my glasses off and let my eyes focus on... nothing. i wont miss my glasses or contacts, but i will miss this stimuli intensity knob. ive fallen asleep with contacts on and always found it very jarring when i woke up seeing perfectly. waking up and not being able to start my day until my glasses or contacts are on to make it official was my life, it's all i knew since elementary school.
can anyone relate? any tips on how to deal with this when it comes?
