Update: Pulled the trigger on the ROG Strix G16 open-box no regrets

Got a lot of helpful responses on my last post, thanks everyone. Ended up buying it at $1,076.99 from Best Buy open-box.

Quick update after running some benchmarks:

Cinebench R23 — 32,720 multi-core / 1,887 single-core. Ryzen 9 8940hx.

3DMark Time Spy — 16,736 overall (Graphics: 18,065 / CPU: 11,813).

Screen honestly doesn’t look bad to me in person, although I never played anything on higher than 1080p. The 16GB RAM is definitely on my radar to upgrade down the line, and I’ll look into repasting the thermal paste eventually. But out of the box it’s running well and thermals seem fine.
For ~$1,077 open-box with these specs, hard to complain.
