Finally got my first gaming laptop today. Super excited to play a bunch of games especially 007 first light next week.
Its stable around 95° C and I want to lower it down to under 90° C, what should I do?
Specs are rtx 3050 6gb, i5 12450H, 16gb ram.
Setting is medium with high texture quality.
I feel like new buyers get pulled toward the highest GPU/CPU combo, but long term comfort is a different thing.
A laptop that gets slightly lower FPS but stays cooler, quieter, and more stable might actually feel better after a year.
For people who’ve owned gaming laptops for a while, what would you choose now?
A. More FPS
B. Better cooling
C. Better screen
D. Better battery
E. Better build quality
Curious what people regret prioritising.
Just delivered and unboxed so cannot give any comments on performance yet. But the build quality is so good and it’s so much lighter than expected. The touchpad and keyboard are also very smooth and definitely feel similar to MacBook. 😍😍😍
Budget: $2500
Country: USA
Use Case: Gaming. Titles: Escape from Tarkov. STALKER 2.
Preferred Specs: 32GB RAM, RTX 5060 or higher tier
Hi, everyone. Now I’m hesitating between these two. I know their tier and price range are different. I just wonder which one would be a better deal. My scenario is to play Escape from Tarkov (I aim to stay at 60FPS in the street of Tarkov) and STALKER 2.
Or should I wait until July 4th to buy gaming laptop since there’s no really sweet discount in major retailers now?
Based on the title, whether the laptop is hot or not, black screen occurs whenever I insert or remove the charger, is this normal or not?
In addition there is one time that the screen repeatedly have black screen, but it rarely occurs anyway. Prob because of the intense heat.
My laptop is Asus TuF A15
(I recently opened the laptop when I recorded this)
edit: for those who wanted the wallpaper, just look at the comment section for that one, someone already sent it lmao
Budget: $200
Country: USA
Use Case: Mixed, but mostly gaming
Preferred Specs: GPU, CPU Temperature
Notes:
I’m having a really hard time choosing which one I want, they say they are basically the same but the v12 has software control but the gt600 has a better foam that seals the bottom of the laptop (but apparently my laptop has a flat bottom so the seal is basically the same on both). I want the best one for my laptop since I’m only gonna need to buy it once but I just want to choose the right option. What do you guys think?
I got a:
ASUS - ROG Strix G16 16" 2.5K 240Hz
Gaming Laptop - AMD Ryzen 9 HX - 32GB
RAM - NVIDIA GeForce RTX 5070 - 1TB
SSD
I have the IETS GT500 and it works great, reduces the temps by 10-15°C. However, if you have your laptop on the stand and play a game, always turn on the fan at least a little bit. If you use it on the cooling pad without it being on, the laptop internal fans have a harder time and you will get higher temps compared to if the laptop would be just sitting flat on your desk. Might be obvious for a lot of people but for me it definitely was an "AHA!" moment, lol.
pls tell me ur experience down
Cheap laptops is something blasphemous to say I know they really dont exist.
But I recently say how the macbook neo is 500-600usd any other better laptops than that for around 700usd
Just wanna run cs2, valorant other games at more than 60fps at least
Budget:45k php country: Philippines
Use case: gaming and school
Preferred specs: 8gb of ram and 512gb of storage.
It's on sale for Memorial Day, so I bought it.
My current laptop is an Alienware M16 13700HX/4070, but I'm old and my eyesight struggles when playing competitive games at my lanparty. The 18" screen on the Scar looked wonderful.
Does anyone here have this model? Do you like it?
Been using this baby since 2020 for online classes, but compared to back then, can't play 2077 that well even on low, Fortnite is nearly unplayable without massive stutters, and don't get me started on Rivals.
Was wondering if she can still be salvaged and used for games or if it's high time to get something new.
If it is time to switch out,
Budget: RM 2500 - 3800
Country: Malaysia (the one down the hall, to the right of Indonesia)
Use Case: Gaming - Cyberpunk, GTA V, Marvel Rivals, OW, FC, Arkham games. Just somewhat heavy games, can run really smooth on lowest, and still look good but somewhat playable at medium at least. Also for university work, with the occasional 3D rendering and programming.
Preferred Specs: wtv you guys believe is best, I'm not smart with the whole laptop/PC stuff
Notes: the general criteria is to play around the aspecs of a.) being strong enough for the aforementioned games, being cheap-ish (Willing to go a bit beyond budget), being light to carry around campus, and this one is totally ok if not possible, good enough battery that I don't need to constantly carry the charger everywhere, but like I said, just around the area of criterias.
Sorry if this isn't as in-depth as possible, like I said, not smart with laptops.
In the end, if I can run Minecraft on battery well (60fps), I can consider even that viable.
Muchas Gracia's.
It legit has everything I wanted got the warranty extension, has the Ultra 9 275HX and RTX 5080 with 32GB Ram and 1TB SSD. Also came with the free Deathadder V2X Hyperspeed. Temps are great 60-70C GPU when gaming and 70C CPU while gaming (undervolted). No scratches or dents. Even had plastic on it.
Told my wife I didn’t want to buy a new gaming laptop unless a deal fell into my hands. Walked into costco and saw this display model. What you guys think ?
Im currently eyeing over the hp omen rtx 5050, core ultra 225H, 16gb ddr5, 1tb nvme from walmart but i cant help but wonder if ill get better deals for more or less the same price (900usd). An rtx 5060 or 4060 would be ideal but they are over here 1000usd as of now 5/20/26
Budget : ≈900usd
Country : USA 🇺🇸
Use case : gaming, school, engineering
Preferred specs: rtx 4060,5060 or a good tgp 5050. 16gb ddr5 minimum,
The uglier pic is the current internet card, I think. I used the device manager to find the type: intel r wireless-ac 9560 160mhz.
This is what's coming up (2nd pic), not a lot but I'd hate to buy this and it not be correct. I see some of the lines aren't exactly the same and I'm not sure what that means :^)
Budget: $1000
Country: USA
Use Case: Light gaming, school, and coding
Preferred Specs: At least RTX 4060 or 5050, i5/Ryzen 5, 16gb ram, and 512gb storage
Notes: Preferably Lenovo
