G16 sustained gaming performance.

Hey y’all, the motherboard on my legion 5 pro gen 6 (r7, 3060) died recently and I’ve been looking at new laptops. I know the zephyrus and legion are on different ends of the gaming laptop spectrum due to size and battery but I had no issues with super long and heavy gaming sessions on the legion and didn’t care too much about battery life either.

I now have more of a need to commute with my laptop multiple times a week and the legion+charger makes it really hard to do so.
So I’ve been keeping an eye out for the 2025 g16 5070ti, do you guys think this can compare with the legion in terms of keeping up top performance for long hours with no issues?

(Also pls lmk if the 2026 zephyrus is worth waiting on a sale for, im assuming we only see half decent sales on that machine starting black friday)
Budget: $2100

Thanks guys

Hey guys, I’ve been eyeing a g16 (2025) with a 5070ti for a while now and a decent deal just came up. I’ve been a chunky gaming laptop user for a long time now and I have had no complaints regarding performance but daily commuting takes a hit. I’m moving to the zephyrus for its sleek form factor and it’s crazy to see such a thin laptop put up these numbers but I just wanted to know how the laptop fairs under sustained load. For instance, gaming for 5 hours straight or really long video rendering, does it maintain peak performance, thermal throttle, drop performance or anything of the sort?

Let me know, thanks.

Hurts to type this but I bought this gen 6 legion 5 pro about 4 years ago, served me well and I had 0 complaints. Woke up one day and it randomly decided not to turn on (the power button light was the only indication it was on), I was fearful thinking this was the motherboard issue a lot of gen 6 legions had been facing that kills the laptop but I sent it for repair hoping it would be something else. Just got the news that it’s dead. Replacing the mobo is the price of the entire laptop.

If any of you guys still use a gen 6 legion, I urge u to sell it and get another device before it’s too late, I was.
