Which is the overall better thin & light?

Been looking for a thin and light gaming laptop as of late, and I’ve narrowed my choices down to the two of these. The Legion is so new I couldn’t find a single review on it which is why I’m making this post. (It’s the 12 gig 5070)

Any suggestions/advice would be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Budget: $2,700
Country: USA (getting it shipped from the US)

New Legion 7 15” (strix-halo)

Just wanted to know, how will this model perform on modern titles? And what would be the equivalent nvidia laptop gpu?
Also think they could’ve added top firing speakers next to the keyboard to maximise the space on the keyboard deck. (Besides the one above the hinge)

Buy now or wait?

Looking to get a 5070ti G16. I really want the 2026 model but can’t justify the price (also bestbuy has it listed with 16 gb ram for some reason)
Can anyone give me their best educated guess on the black Friday pricing of the new G16?
If it’s still too much, i’ll just settle on the 2025 model.

Thanks

G16 warranty from BestBuy

Hi all, I’m purchasing a zephyrus g16 from bestbuy in the US and plan on getting it shipped to the UK. If I was to pay extra for the warranty offered by bestbuy, how would that translate here? Would it apply to ASUS UK or is it completely pointless?

Thanks

Tightening Hinge?

Might be a stupid question but is it possible to tighten the hinge to reduce screen wobble?
I’m close to getting the GU605 G16 but kinda worried about screen wobble whilst typing, it’s something I really can’t stand.

Is it bearable or is there any way to reduce said wobble?
(Used a ProArt P16 recently and the wobble was a bit too much for my liking)

Best Buy - Open Box G16?

For those of y’all who bought open box (excellent) G16s from best buy, do you mind sharing your experience with it so far?
I really want to get one of these but I’ve always been skeptical of them regardless of the stated condition.
I’m not in a position to go check them out in person so do you guys think it’s worth the gamble to get it shipped directly?

Thanks

Predator 25 elite sizing.

Hey yall, I’ve been looking for new boots and decided to settle on the predator 25 elite FT (the 26 has a plastic feeling upper according to reviews)
I’ve been a mercurial user for years and just wanted to switch things up, also needed an AG soleplate.
My sizing w mercurials has always been a UK 8 (EU 42.5), do u guys think i should go for a size 8 or 8.5 on the predator?

G-helper or VBIOS swap?

For g16 owners with a 5070ti, do you think it’s worth looking into doing a vbios swap for higher TGP or is the performance difference negligible when compared to turbo mode using g helper?

G16 sustained gaming performance.

Hey y’all, the motherboard on my legion 5 pro gen 6 (r7, 3060) died recently and I’ve been looking at new laptops. I know the zephyrus and legion are on different ends of the gaming laptop spectrum due to size and battery but I had no issues with super long and heavy gaming sessions on the legion and didn’t care too much about battery life either.

I now have more of a need to commute with my laptop multiple times a week and the legion+charger makes it really hard to do so.
So I’ve been keeping an eye out for the 2025 g16 5070ti, do you guys think this can compare with the legion in terms of keeping up top performance for long hours with no issues?

(Also pls lmk if the 2026 zephyrus is worth waiting on a sale for, im assuming we only see half decent sales on that machine starting black friday)
Budget: $2100

Thanks guys

Hey guys, I’ve been eyeing a g16 (2025) with a 5070ti for a while now and a decent deal just came up. I’ve been a chunky gaming laptop user for a long time now and I have had no complaints regarding performance but daily commuting takes a hit. I’m moving to the zephyrus for its sleek form factor and it’s crazy to see such a thin laptop put up these numbers but I just wanted to know how the laptop fairs under sustained load. For instance, gaming for 5 hours straight or really long video rendering, does it maintain peak performance, thermal throttle, drop performance or anything of the sort?

Let me know, thanks.

Hurts to type this but I bought this gen 6 legion 5 pro about 4 years ago, served me well and I had 0 complaints. Woke up one day and it randomly decided not to turn on (the power button light was the only indication it was on), I was fearful thinking this was the motherboard issue a lot of gen 6 legions had been facing that kills the laptop but I sent it for repair hoping it would be something else. Just got the news that it’s dead. Replacing the mobo is the price of the entire laptop.

If any of you guys still use a gen 6 legion, I urge u to sell it and get another device before it’s too late, I was.
