Might start HRT, want some advice on it
Hello everyone, I'd like to share some of my experiences with y'all while also asking for some advice.
So for starters I'm brazilian and getting HRT over here is pretty different from the US (from what I've heard), specifically in my city (São Paulo) the whole process (just not the hornones) is free! Wich is where the good parts end given I'm at the country that kills the most trans people.
I've been going to therapy to discuss about the possibilities of transition for about a year (private therapy as public healthcare only gets you like 1 session a month for a year) wich seems to be the required amount of therapy to request HRT, so yay i guess. Just recently our federal government's medicine council passed a "bill" (not quite but whatever) saying hrt isn't allowed for minors, wich sucks but we're fighting hard to change that. Thankfully I'm 24 so it's not a problem for me (first time I been happy from starting late).
One thing I wanted to ask everyone here is: how were you sure? Like I know I want to be a woman and I get the feeling it might just make my life better, but what if it doesn't? What if I go through all of this and nothing gets better? Then everything will feel like it was for nothing and I'm not sure i can handle the pressure (in the scenerio where I'm already doing hrt and told a lot of people). Idk maybe I'm overthinking but I really want different opinions on this.
