Rolling away with a sidecar crib
Hey y’all!! We cosleep with both our kids, 2.5yo in between us and 8mo on the other side of me with a sidecar to keep him from rolling off (he sleeps right next to me, not actually in the sidecar lol). Right now our 2.5yo starts the night in her own bed and joins us later, and the baby sleeps on my chest downstairs while we watch tv on a low volume and eat snacks haha. I would love to start leaving the baby in the sidecar if he’ll settle there so we can watch tv at a regular volume, cuddle, etc but I’m curious how everyone handles this safety wise? We have a monitor obviously but I’m just not sure if he woke up and started crawling that I’d get up there in time to catch him before he tips off the other side of the bed. A floor bed isn’t an option which is why we have the sidecar. I’d thought about possibly adding the wooden toddler rail to the crib so he has a little barrier to keep him safe? But then I wouldn’t be able to cuddle him very effectively. Anyway open to any and all thoughts or ideas!! Or just tell me this isn’t realistic 😂
