Do you think that the age rating of a comic has a large impact on viewers? -A few of my comic panels
I originally posted my webcomic Darkthoryne Asylum with a mature rating. The characters are rather sassy, so I did not censor any cursing at all initially and planned to have more violent panels in the future. (Genre is Supernatural/horror/fantasy).
The response started off really strong, but now I'm not sure if anyone is reading anymore. My upload schedule was once monthly, so I wondered if that was too slow for people, and contributing to the problem. Do you think that the mature age rating is also having an effect on my views? Or is it something else? I censored the language and harsher parts in the comic and began to re-upload it as a separate, YA version. The update schedule will be weekly, so I'm hoping that will help.
Does anyone else feel that the age rating limited readers for their comic? Advice for retaining readers?
