Non damaging permanent hair color for thinning gray hair has become my midlife mission

Does anyone else feel like coloring your hair after 50 is completely different than it used to be? Back in the day I could color my hair and it looked shinier afterward. Now my roots get covered but my hair texture feels rough, dry, and noticeably thinner every single time.

I’m struggling around my temples and crown where my scalp suddenly seems way more visible than it used to. It really affects my confidence more than I want to admit. I’m looking for something permanent that actually covers stubborn grays but still feels gentle on aging hair.

For women dealing with thinning, dryness, sensitive scalps, and all the glamorous hormonal hair changes nobody warned us about, what are you using now?
