Brand intro: Cirque Sensorium

Hello IPAM,

I wanted to officially introduce myself … Hi! I’m Denice or the Mad Scientist as the hubby likes to call me. Cirque Sensorium launched in late 2024 and has been growing steadily since then. I know some of you have already discovered my Etsy shop, and I’m truly grateful to everyone who has taken a chance on a new brand. I have so much fun with this endeavor and have met some of the nicest, coolest people in the process!

The spark for Cirque Sensorium came from a few places. First and foremost, is my love of unique fragrances, collecting (hoarding??) indies, and my exploration with creating perfumes for myself.

The aesthetic of the series Carnivàle was the inspiration for my shop vibe. I love the vintage, slightly grungy circus atmosphere and the themes of good versus evil, and I wanted that vibe to greet anyone who enters the shop. Such a great series! Soo bummed it was just two seasons. If you have never seen it, I highly recommend it.

Another is the film Harold and Maude, a movie dear to my heart, where Maude has this amazing contraption called the Odorific Machine that spins up entire experiences through scent. That idea stuck with me, and it’s what I hope my perfumes can do. Bring back a memory, create a new adventure, or paint a story!

I’m also inspired by art and color. Sometimes I find a painting or photo that perfectly captures the mood of a scent; other times the artwork itself inspires the fragrance, like the vintage posters and dancers portrayed in my Dancers, Vamps, and Divas set. The artwork in my current catalog comes from public domain sources and I always give a shout out to the name, artist, and date in my listings when known.

Now about the perfume! I currently offer 1 ml discovery samples in a 5 pack, 5 ml rollerballs, EDPs, and a few larger EDP options. All perfumes are phthalate free, vegan (with the exception of those containing honey) and are made with natural essential oils, resins, absolutes, extracts, accords, synthetic fragrances, and a base of fractionated coconut oil or perfumer alcohol for the EDPs.

Right now, I’m juggling 70+ scents in the shop, and while they all have a special place in my heart, I’m hoping to streamline the catalog a bit. I am gearing up for my first big sale on many of the 5ml rollerballs and EDPs this August. If you are considering shopping the sale... firstly, thank you! …but also a helpful hint, the 1ml discovery sets are very popular and a great way to figure out what scents you like before the sale. The full list of scents is now available at https://sites.google.com/view/cirquesensoriumscentlist/home and you can follow me on Facebook, Instagram, or tiktok at @CirqueSensorium for new scent releases and sale announcements.

Thanks for the flair and the warm welcome to the community!
