Ooof… merger or post covid mess?

Today is my first day at Cedar Point since 2019… wow has it changed. Ride ops are not great… not because of the staff, but the lack of staff … mavericks Fast Lane line is spilling out of the midway, there’s conflicting information on wait times, the staff is overwhelmed.

In addition to ops, the upkeep of the park… is …. Sparse. Knobs missing on doors, locks broken on several stalls in the bathrooms. Food quality is not great… the employees seem to be left in the dark about any changes/updates.

Positive notes, my pass worked without an issue. all season fast lane and dining worked without issue (home park is a Six Flags). The staff is wonderful as ever. Marcia at Backbeat BBQ, the line sorter at TT2. Everyone I interact with is genuinely polite …. They just seem under supported.

Has this been the norm since COVID? Or is the atrocious understaffing and maintenance from the merger? IMO… this feels like a Six Flags now…

Kudos to the staff for making it work the best they can … with a smile! Management… get it together.
