Parking at CedarPoint

Planning on going to Cedar Point tomorrow for the first time! I’ve been to Canada’s Wonderland (also a six flags park) countless times and you can buy a parking pass online which can save you some time and money. Does Cedar Point not have an online parking pass you can buy? Or am I just not seeing it?

Also — if the park opens at 9am can I expect a long line for parking? Just trying to plan when I should start my drive cause I’m still a 90min drive away.

Riding together with the whole squad possible?

Maybe some ride ops can help answer my question. I’m headed to the park this Saturday with a group of 12 friends for my birthday. We all have FL+ wristbands and early entry & we’re super excited for a full day of coasters.

While I don’t fully expect our entire group to stick together for the entire day, but for the times that we are going to be together, what is the likelihood that our entire group of 12 gets seated on the same train when queuing for rides?

For example we definitely wanna do a train takeover on Maverick (which seats 12), will ride ops make that happen for us? Or are we likely to be split up between trains? I know this probably isn’t likely for EVERY ride in the park, but will we be able to ride together as a group for a good chunk of rides?

I appreciate the input, I’m usually used to hitting the park up with either just my wife or maybe 2 of our friends, I’ve never been to the park with a bigger group.

Heat exhaustion after 2hr wait for Steel Vengeance

The que estimate was at 45mins when we got in line. The line was moving great and then the ride auto-malfunctioned right as we were next riders on! We waited just over an hour while they worked diligently to get the ride back up. The sun was starting to set and was shining right into the que. I got absolutely fried up there waiting but rode anyways. BEST RIDE OF THE DAY. 🤪

But after getting off I started dry-heaving, sweating profusely, shaking, and was so dizzy. I thought my friends were gonna have to roll me out the park. My husband went to ask a gift shop employee for advice on how to get me help. She immediately offered him a free bottle of water and called first aid services.

First aid took less than 5 minutes to get to me with a cold towel in clutch. I got to ride in their tiny car to the first aid center where they took my vitals and let me chill until I was feeling better. I was in quite a condition when they found me, but they made me feel so safe and like I wasn't a burden. Took me about 40mins in their center to feel better, but I was able to walk out and have dinner with my friends later.

Truly amazing staff and service during our visit. I look forward to returning in the future, maybe on a cooler day for me though. Haha.

Early entry rides?

Currently at the park. This morning not one employee seemed to know which rides were open at 9 am. I can't find a list online. Does anyone know what will be open early tomorrow?

Trip review, family of 4 w/ 2 young kids

Just got back from our 2 day trip. This is my overall breakdown of our stay so this might be long but hopefully it's helpful. I'm not generally a picking person but I am a details person. I'm not expecting Disney here. My home park is MI Adventure for reference here so standards aren't high. Kids had a great time overall but mom & dad were stressed majority of the time due to so many small details/inconveniences popping up around every corner. We adapt and we carry on but I'd be lying if I said it wasn't difficult. We did expect more from Cedar Point than what we are used to at MI Adventure. CP didn't deliver that but we will make the trip again next summer for another chance knowing what we know now.

We stayed at Cedar Point Express. Checked in Sunday night, park all day Monday, checked out Tuesday morning, another day at the park, then 5 hour drive home. CP Express is located just before the peninsula to get to the park. Close but not walkable. McDonald's and Dairy Queen across the street but both are packed. We waited 45 min inside Dairy Queen for 4 blizzards. That's another story.

Staying at a CP resort allowed us to get early entry but found out the early entry really only gets you in to the park so you can stand in line for a coaster. Basically everything is closed until 10am, some rides 11am, and kiddie rides until noon. Most dining and drink stops didn't open until 11.

You do get a better parking spot this way and also avoid the crazy crowd that starts to form around 9:30am. Early entry was smooth. Arrived at 8:55, got second row parking and walked right in to the park. We arrived at 9:45 the first day and experienced total chaos.

The hotel itself was clean enough. We paid $120 a night with our season pass discount. No breakfast but there's a mini fridge and microwave so we bought some frozen breakfast sandwiches at Meijer. The splash pad area no longer works. The pool was way too warm and full of bugs and debris. Chlorine was overwhelming. I appreciate that the pool at its deepest is 3'6 so my 4 year old didn't need a life jacket. We spent about 20 min in the pool area. Beds were hard and the blankets were paper thin, practically just two sheets. Employees were quick, friendly and helpful which is rare these days.

After getting to the park we really wished we had splurged to stay on site at the campground in the cabin or even at Breakers. The cabins are very nice and have everything plus some that a hotel has. You don't need to bring anything extra when you stay at the cabin. I thought we would need to bring bedding but that is provided. Parking the car right in front of the cabin makes unpacking so much easier. At the hotel we had to make multiple trips to the car from our hotel room on the second floor just to get our stuff inside. Limited luggage carts available and scanning our room key in and out, taking the elevator, all that fun stuff makes a trip to the car take 5 minutes. All of that avoided if you stay in a cabin. The option to walk into the park without carrying around a day bag would have been magical especially since you have to get a locker if you plan on riding coasters. While standing in lines we watched people walk back to their rooms/cabins and return a little while later and we were so jealous. The park is huge and hard to navigate but the campground entrance on the west side and the Breakers entrance on the north east side put you closer to the action than the main entrance does. Main entry has you walking .5 mile to get to Camp Snoopy. Not ideal. Being able to go cool down and take a break right there at your room/cabin would have been awesome, especially with small kids who need a nap. If you want to do the water park or beach I would 100% recommend staying at Breakers or campground.

We also have all park season pass dining plan through our home park which gets us a 2 meals a day, but have to wait 4 hours between meals. Only entrees. The daily premium dining pass at CP that is $55 gets you food every 90 min and you can get dippin dots, pretzels, cotton candy, popcorn, ect snacks with that plan and the drinks every 15 min. That would have been better for our family and even though it says "no sharing" I don't know how they could ever enforce that or if they even would so for a family of 4, mom and dad get the pass and share with the young kids.

The drink stations are all questionable. The coke free style machines throughout the park need better care and monitoring. Always taste test your drink before filling up. Every time one of us would get a drink that didn't have any syrup/was empty. Dump it out and try again. Machines not working, machines without ice, machines that don't have the same offerings. I tried to drink Iced Tea because it was the best tasting but found only half of the spots have it. We have the drink plan with a paper cup and wished we had a souvenir cup with a lid so I recommend bringing your own bottle in with you and pouring into that. Day 2 they allowed us to walk in with water bottles no problem. The water in the machines also sucks and the bottled water there is $5.49 a bottle.

Best dining option was the Pavilion behind the ferris wheel. Air conditioning, bigger plates, and better tasting. There's burrito bowls/nachos upstairs by the bar (and the good bathrooms!) and chicken drumsticks, battered shrimp, chicken tenders, flank steak in the main lobby. We did Panda Express day 1 and while it was good they only offer Orange Chicken, Beijing Beef, and Sweet Fire Chicken. Pizza at Hugo's was mediocre. My biggest complaint about dining is that they don't have trays anywhere. Not a single place! So if you have small children be prepared to balance and juggle food on paper plates. It was so annoying and I had to literally leave my food at the register, go out to find a seat to make multiple trips and the workers thought I was inconveniencing them. So make sure you have enough people present to carry the food you order. A lot of the food felt like the same thing but different. A lot of smokehouse/bbq fusion style options. Brisket nachos at one place then next door BBQ pulled pork loaded fries, next stop Smoked Chicken burrito bowls, then BBQ hotdogs. Same flavors with different names.

Park desperately needs painting. Rides are faded and color schemes of the coasters are all too similar making it hard to tell them apart/stand out from one another. Why so many orange coasters?

Cobwebs everywhere. Even in high traffic areas and main entrances. Trash accumulated under ride steps (especially Iron Dragon) and trash along ledges and dropped on roofs (especially sky train/gondola). All easily fixed with a broom.

While standing in line for Pipe Scream we watched a worker come around with a gallon of Round Up and spray the signs, fences, flowers around the entrance and then continue on down the walkway. At 1pm, park full of people, with little kids running around 5 ft away. If we weren't getting ready to board the ride I would have said something. Spraying poison around the main entrances of kid rides during operating hours is unacceptable.

Lack of seating in Camp Snoopy was annoying but at least it's shaded. Found a swing bench in Camp Snoopy and when sitting down found the screws sticking out in multiple spot just waiting to ruin your day. Lack of shade in Kiddie Kingdom was disappointing. The middle of the park in direct sun without any sun sails or umbrellas or fans is crazy.

Our home park is a quarter of the size of Cedar Point so it was overwhelming at times. Big annoyance - the park lacks signage. I had my phone out all day checking the map on the app using the navigation tool to get around. You don't know where the ride is or what it's called until you walk up to the entrance of it. A few arrows or "Maverick this way" or "this way to A, B, and C" would have made life a lot easier. Unless you're a seasoned veteran you're gonna get lost. Layout makes zero sense. I guess that happens when you have limited space and rides changing over the years you build where you can. It unfortunately has segmented the park.

Notable rides:

Mom's favorite ride was Sirens Curse. The smoothest coaster ever and so much fun, it was different and exciting! Coming from a coaster enthusiast who doesn't ride much anymore due to autoimmune disease making it harder to tolerate the physical beating most coasters cause. 7yo enjoys coasters so Mom had to suck it up. Valraven was fun too and 7yo loved it after initially being a little scared due to the seat design.

4yo and 7yo - both said their favorite rides were Iron Dragon and Pipe Scream. 4yo needed a parent to ride but 7yo could ride alone. We rode both at least 4 times.

We enjoyed Wild Mouse too because our favorite ride is actually Mad Mouse at Michigan Adventure. This is the sister ride but with spinning. Mad Mouse gives you air time in the seat while Wild Mouse gives you the element of surprise as the car is simultaneously spinning, so no ride is the same.

The park lacks in the small midway style, thrill rides. Lots of coasters and lots of kiddie rides, like the 3yo and under type. My 4yo was bored with the majority of the kid rides and wanted more of the Troika/Pipe Scream type rides.

40 min wait to get on the Giant Ferris Wheel on a slow Tuesday. Why?!

Coasters run fast - I mean getting on and off these things. I'm sure the operators are timed. Some coasters had 6 operators on the platform! So you are on, buckled, checked, ride begins under 30 sec. The gates are opening for onboarding riders before the riders are even out of the seat. I love it. Our home park is sloooow. Everyone has to be out of the exit gate before they open the gates for oncoming riders.

Small rides board so slowly. I swear Calypso was 5 min getting everyone on, 1 min of ride, 3 min to get off. My kids were like "get me off this thing!" One operator on these small rides measuring kids, checking restraints, checking the gates, locking the cars, starting the ride, unbuckling every guest with the pin, unlocking the cars, opening the gate.... OMG it takes forever! If you are first on and then last off expect it to take 10 min. Not including any time waiting in line.

The train ride was helpful when we had to get to the other side of the park but there were some loud bang/pewpew surprises from the skeleton towns/sights along the way that scared my 4yo.

Tip: There's a Build A Bear Workshop near Maverick in the Frontier area. It's just like a regular BAB as far as pricing and selection. Something to keep in mind because it's better than buying a stuffie in the gift shop and about the same price or can even be cheaper depending on the bear you pick. They honor all coupons, promos, and even do the birthday bear discount during your birth month so you only pay your age for the basic bear.

Haunted Express Passes for 2026?

I noticed that for 2025 they were selling Haunted Express passes. Is this something released at a later date? Or is it now for season pass holders only?

Or am I missing it somewhere?

Question - going as a chaperone

I'm going tomorrow for the first time in 10 years with a group of teenagers, I'm one of several adult chaperones.

I'm planning on carrying a small backpack for myself and the students with me. From what I remember years ago, for most rides I could drop the backpack in a cubby by the ride start, and pick up at the end. But now I see people saying you have to rent lockers? Is there no longer an option to drop a small (string backpack even) while you're on the ride? How complicated is locker rental?

Also I have a medical condition and I've been cleared by my doctor to ride any ride I want, but I'm worried about anything that's 1) too shaky or 2) sudden stops. Which rides should I avoid? I know Siren's Curse has the tilt/drop but it seems pretty smooth from the POV. Which rides are worst on a person's body?

Thanks!

List of coasters and major attractions 1970-present

Went to the park for the first time in a few years today, rode some of the newer coasters for the first time. It got me thinking of how much the park has changed since I've been going.

It's hard to explain to kids these days how big of a deal Magnum was when it first opened.

Ride recommendations? (other than coasters)

Also anything but WindSeeker, Power Tower, Sky Hawk, Slingshot, or Windseeker. I'm not brave enough for those 😅

But other than those and the coasters what else should I ride?

What's up with the lack of stickers?

Hello all! I went to the park yesterday and wanted to buy some stickers of the rides I went on, but my group and I went to 5-6 different shops around the park and could not find a single one. On my trip only 2 months ago I was able to find at least a few in the bigger stores. But when I returned to those stores, they were no where to be found! Why? I feel like the sticker selection has gotten worse over the years with just less and less, what's up with that? I'm sure theres a customer base out there! Or Perhaps I came at a bad time?

Kudos to Cedar Point lost and found

Was at the park recently and on the last day, last ride, my phone fell out of my front pants pocket during the ride and landed in the middle of nowhere (according to Fnd My Phone). I had no confidence that someone would help me try to find it afterhours (and we were going home anyways) so bought a new phone as soon as I got home. I noticed a week later that FindMyPhone was saying the phone was no longer near the coaster path but near the front entrance. I googled and found the SixFlags Lost and Found page listed below, thinking I had nothing to lose. 2 days later, I received an email saying they found it! They fedex'd it to me for $40, which beats me going there to get it. It had a couple of dings but was otherwise undamaged. Want to say Kudos to Cedar point for taking the effort to search out Lost and Found items on coasters. I am told they walk the premises as part of their closing procedure.

Blue Bunny is not real ice cream

Cedar Point Blue Bunny Ice Cream Parlor in a Toft's town

Apparently due to Enshittification most Blue Bunny has changed to where it is no longer real ice cream. Instead, the brand shifted most of its products to "frozen dairy dessert" because they use whey and other milk derivatives instead of hitting the strict milkfat minimums required by federal law. I find it to be inedible.

Cedar Point’s Fast Lane price hike reignites debate over skip-the-line passes

First, let me say that I'm not posting this out of anger or joy about the increase in All Season Fast Lane Plus (ASFL+). I am genuinely fascinated by how modern amusement parks work, the business decisions they make, and the outcome of those decisions.

The increase in ASFL+ specifically was fascinating because it brought up so many questions. Like, how many people add-on ASFL+? How often do people with different home parks visit Cedar Point? What percentage of the line are daily passes vs. season passes? What has the feedback been on FL+ at Cedar Point? Why is this massive increase only at Cedar Point and not other parks?

Basically...what problem is this increase trying to solve? Is it trying to increase revenue or change behavior?

I think this article, along with a few others, has answered that for me: They are trying to change behavior.

I've never had any issue with using FL+ at Cedar Point, but I also realize that I tend to visit the park when it's not all that busy. Usually I'll make the two hour drive to the park after work, ride for about 4 hours until close, and go home. I also try to go in May and June and then wait until school is back in session. But I've seen enough trip reports here and r/rollercoasters to know that on the weekend, FL+ lines are insanely long. Yes, it's shorter than the regular line, but still a long line. Some of this has to do with merge points (which need to be improved), but it's hard to ignore that Cedar Point is just selling too many passes.

What's worse is, they cannot account for who is going to visit the park if they have ASFL+. They can limit the daily pass, but if a hypothetical 50,000 people with ASFL+ show up to the park all at once, Cedar Point is just stuck with that number and the unhappy customers.

In the article, Tony Clark said this...

>“Our goal is to balance its availability each day to provide the best experience and value in the product, whether for a single day or all season.”

So, I think Cedar Point will approach this with a 1-2 punch:

  • ASFL+: If you want this, you're going to have to pay a LOT of money to enjoy the benefit. Yes, this is an increase in Six Flags revenue per purchase, but I don't think that's the goal. I think they actually want to sell fewer of these passes to keep season ticket holders from inundating the FL+ line on random days. It also closes the loophole of buying at a smaller park, but still going to Cedar Point as if it's your home park.
  • Daily FL+: I think these will see an increase in price next year as well, especially on busier days. They won't reach the Disney level of pricing, but I think it'll get close. I would not be shocked if we see prices of $300 or more on busier days next year. This will decrease the amount of people in FL+ lines making it a better value for folks who can afford it. We may also see true limits to how many of the passes are sold per day.

So, I take back my previous statements saying that, "I don't think you guys are going to get what you want out of this change..." because I just assumed most people will get daily FL+. I thought the move was purely financial. And that could still be the case if they keep the daily pass the same. But given that all of the talk has been around acknowledging that FL+ lines are too long and the company needing to balance the availability, I don't think that's the case.

And as a final point...yeah, I agree that this is needed. I went to Kennywood yesterday and used their Speedy Pass. It's similar to Legacy Six Flags skip-the-line pass and I never waited in the queue. When it was our turn, we just got into the Speedy Pass line and boarded. Same experience when I visited Six Flags Great America last year. Insanely busy day, but we rarely waited in line because we couldn't get in line if there were too many reservations. Six Flags actively managed the queue virtually. It's why I prefer the Six Flags version over the Cedar Fair version (who knew I'd say that).

So to end...y'all may get what you want. Less people will be in the FL+ line due to increased cost to get the pass either on a daily or annual basis. This will mean the regular line will move a lot faster. And if you do splurge of a FL+ pass, you'll still get a great benefit.

(I am not an employee of Cedar Point and this subreddit is not affiliated with the park or Six Flags. All speculation is my own)

Where the heck should i stay?

Hi all,

We are tentatively planning out first cedar point trip late aug/early sept and we are trying to nail down a nice place to stay.

We are driving about 8-9 hours to the park and plan to go to the park for 2 full days and to get FLP for at least 1 day. (3 nights)

I'm the coaster enthusiast, my wife less-so but still enjoys riding them with me. I acknowledge the park is pretty minimal theming and that the focus is solely on riding coasters. With some convincing my wife is on board but we are still looking for a relaxing area to stay or something else that will round out this trip and make it feel worth the drive.

Initially i thought, "lets stay at breakers" since its on-site, walkable to the park and could feel resorty/comfy..... queue the $$$$, poor reviews, people saying 'its about the convenience' and so on.

I totally get the convenience factor, but I can't bring myself to spend close to 1k on motel level room accommodations, dated and cheap dining options, no free breakfast or no other perks aside from early entry.

I've checked out some airbnbs in sandusky and have mostly luke warm feelings to them since a lot are in "historic" buildings or are again, trying to charge crazy money for some BS in a rundown home or area. Then of course, you have a few ridiculous stays charging more than 1k for a few days and thats just unreasonable in its own right.

Lastly, every hotel option I've seen has dismal reviews, accommodations, or is just not a 'special stay' in some random part of town 20-30 min away from the park.

Please tell me there are good options out there? honestly i dont even care if I need to drive 30+ minutes to the park so long as there is a remotely decent enough lodging option.

Camping/RV/cabin is out of the question for us unfortunately.

We want to make this a fun and worthwhile trip; can anyone give us some advice?

My dad won the ultimate Midway prize

He has been playing and winning the same game for years and I convinced him to try his luck at the jumbo version that he has never quite managed to conquer. Well, we walked out with a 6ft+ 20ish pound stuffed husky and two capybara friends.

He offered a few tips to someone else on how he does it and they ended up winning as well! It is the one where you have to bounce a whiffle ball off the slanted backboard and into a bucket below without knocking sticks off at either end (see behind the proud winner for photo reference).

Anywho, he is who started my love of coasters and years of going even inspired a tattoo mashup of my girl Millenium Force and a local amusement park. It was so cool to bring him back and watch his inner child have so much fun!
