Essentially my Gf is being gifted a 2015 BMW 528i, it’s a salvage title bought at auction a while ago but over the years they found an issue where water would leak into the trunk during heavier rain and at one point it shorted a system and the car stopped in the middle of the road. We’re pretty sure it leaks into the right side of the trunk but unsure exactly how and how to fix it, are there any common defects or mechanisms that might cause this? It otherwise runs fine and would be great for her to just drive to work.
