Hey guys! I currently own an 06 x5 4.4L, an e92 328i, and recently a e36 m3, along with some other projects. Ive been wanting a more exotic car to put a few thousand miles a year at most on. And I’ve circled around to e60 m5s. I’d be looking at examples around 20k. It would be a dumb idea, but how bad? If it’s just to pick up my friends in and have a loud v10 every saturday, is it a fair idea?
Hey everyone, sorry for formatting, posting from mobile.
I’m looking to purchase a pre-owned 23 330i with ~22k miles on the clock. Car was one owner, no accidents reported and has a gorgeous red interior that I love. Mostly looking to be sure this is a decent investment for the next few years at the price they’re asking. ~$36k out the door. Got all the trimmings, including the HUD, and it’s still in the manufacturer’s warranty for another ~18k miles. Anything to negotiate on or any tips?
Photos included. Thanks very much in advance!
I like these 401M wheels it came with...but I want them to better match the sportline aesthetic - black trim, grille, exhaust tips (color is imperial blue + tan). But I don't want the wheels to vanish completely. And gunmetal grey is kinda sexy! Also, would black help mask that xdrive height gap better? ChatGPT gave me these previews. Thanks!
After having black and grey BMWs, I wanted to go for a change and get an individual color (brass metallic) for my 330e. I didn’t get the chance to see the color in real life. But luckily it turned out to be some of my favorite colors. The way it changes every time you look at it. Sometimes grey, then its more bronze depending on sunlight. According to insurance, the car is yellow. Not sure if I agree :-).
Lease ends in about 2 years but strongly considering just buying it out.
One year and two days after having a triple coronary artery bypass graft.
The car is a Dinan 550ix. It sat outside, un-driven, for a full year with only occasional power rinsing to keep the debris buildup to a minimum. Today I finally have the energy to actually do a contact wash and dry. The circa-2024 ceramic coating has worn off the top surfaces, but is alive and well everywhere else.
I’m feeling pretty good about how well it cleaned up. Heck, I might even take it around the block!
I’m looking at a 15 year-old 1-owner car with the N52 auto. It’s had regular maintenance (at least 4 oil changes and a new battery in 2022) mostly at the dealer, and appears quite clean. It’s at a BMW dealer about 300 miles away so I haven’t seen it in person yet.
It’s a non-M sport with manual climate control and no iDrive. A very basic car.
What potential issues am I looking at? Never bought a low-mileage BMW that’s more than 2 years old.
Thanks!
Only mod is an Armytrix exhaust.
Owned and built by @f81cs_340wb. He's the same guy that built F81 M3 CS some years ago.
Description of the car from the owner himself:
"After four years of using an F30 340i xDrive as my daily, I wanted something newer and more practical. The G21 M340i xDrive Touring offered the extra space, but I wanted the aggressive wide-body look of an M3 while keeping the M340i front end . . . That’s when the idea turned into a build!
A 2023 M340i xDrive with only 20,000 km served as the donor car, while a 2022 G21 Touring provided the chassis. The complete drivetrain and key components were transferred, together with M3 front and rear fenders and a G81 rear bumper.
The result is a unique M340i xDrive Widebody. The aggressive presence of an M3, combined with the comfort, practicality, and distinctive front-end design of the M340i. In my opinion, it truly offers the best of both worlds."
For the past one week, I’ve been driving my friend’s 2024 BMW X3 xdrive30i alongside my own 2024 Volvo XC60 B5, and I just wanted to share my personal experience. I drove around 1000 miles with the BMW. After this experience, I want my next car to be BMW.
To me, BMW felt like an energetic, aggressive, mischievous younger sibling who is ready to throw a punch. While Volvo felt like a calm and composed older sibling.
I am not sure about the longterm reliability or maintenance, and also not sure about latest BMW X3s. But, as soon as my XC60 builds around $10k in positive equity, I am ready to swap it with the so called "Ultimate Driving Machine". Atleast I will get a CPO one.
