Founder no longer a Commonwealth Member - Looking for advice on how to proceed
Hey folks!
My playgroup have been working through our first attempt at Blighted Reach over the past little while. We're just moving on to Act 3 and I've found myself in a pretty odd scenario:
Act 1 saw me as the Founder. I was able to successfully become an Outlaw and, without too much opposition, was able to complete my objective.
Act 2, continuing as the Founder, is where things got a little wacky. Another player had successfully completed Act 1 as the Caretaker, and was enjoying his Golem Management Simulator in the second as they started to go unstable. Notably, this added Knowledge Set Free to the game, allowing players to donate Lore Cards during summit, assuming the recipient was willing.
The Keeper Ambition had been declared as the Commonwealth Ambition, and I was sitting on almost all of the Relics. We were on the second last turn when a Summit was called, and we realized that the Caretaker did not have more Lore than anyone else, would not be able to score another Lore card, and was a single point away from completing their objective. This is where I saw my damning opportunity: I offered him my Book of Liberation during the summit. He accepted, as it was the only way he saw to maintain his Caretaker Fate going into Act 3.
Some of you might see where this is going.
On the final round of the final Chapter, I was able to attack a Free City as the Founder of the Commonwealth, as I no longer had the Book of Liberation preventing me from doing so. Harming it stripped me of my Commonwealth Membership, while still being the Founder of the Commonwealth, and allowed me to singularly score the Commonwealth Ambition as a non-member netting me double the Power of first and second place combined.
It was a hilarious moment for the table seeing as how absurd it was for the Founder to no longer be a member strictly because of the Caretaker's Summit addition, and it seemed pretty good at the time rocketing ahead in Power. However, I quickly realized that I'm now in a bit of trouble, as I'm no longer a member of the Empire (all three other players still are), AND I'm no longer a member of the Commonwealth (all three other players still are). So, I've decided to pivot to my alternative Fate going into Act 3 as the Redeemer.
Anyone have any advice on how not to get choked out by the super-coalition that is made up of all three of my rivals?
