Dirty Techno on the Roland TR-1000
Can't get enough of this beast of an instrument. I wanted to show what was possible with one variation.
The first track has different kicks on each layer, the second track has different percussion loops on each layer, the third track has different bass loops on each layer and the fourth track has different lead loops on each layer. The layers can be blended between with the mix knobs on those four tracks. This allows for 16 pattern variations utilising the first four tracks alone! The other six tracks also have sounds on them, for even more possibilities.
When you factor in that the TR-1000 can utilise sample chains, the possibilities open up even further. Suddenly, your two layers on the first four tracks can become a wide array of sounds, utilising slices which you can assign to different variations with careful step-locking.
