AITAH for getting into an argument with my friend?
AITAH? I’ve dated this one guy for around 8 months so far, he gets insecure kinda easily so I told my friends to not comment not his appearance and not to say anything about his flaws.
But ofc since my one friend likes to not listen, she goes on to talk mess about him anyways. I’m not sure if this is normal in any friendships but she constantly follows me and my boyfriend or sometimes just me, around just to talk shit about him.. Ofc im not about to let that slide so I tell her politely to stop talking to him like that, I say “ hey *instert friend’s name*, I already asked if you could stop taking about him like that??”.
She replied “okay so??? You guys should lowkey break up, there are better ppl in the school”. Honestly I’m already mad and fed up with her at this point so I yell at her to stop talking about my boyfriend like that since he’s insecure.
And we get into this huge screaming battle, she starts saying that she’s valid for saying all that stuff about him but I yell that she needs to fix her face and attitude before she talks mess about him. But I still kinda want to be friends with her since she’s been there for me for a long time, my boyfriend still doesn’t know that she talks mess about him though. Although I do understand that I could’ve came from a different approach to talk and resolve this situation, but am I the asshole for getting into an argument with her, what do you think?
