I've been hanging around this subreddit for a while so I thought I would post something. I know Quotev isn't really used as often anymore, but I still post my poems and thoughts on there. So... if anyone is ever curious, or bored, or wants something to read, my page is there.

I've found that the small size of the site has actually been nice. I do want my writing to reach more people one day, but, as it is, I like the intimacy of Quotev. That doesn't mean that I don't want other people who love the site not to see my page, though.

Anyway, if you read it, I hope it brings you some joy.

I'm an Ancient and Medieval History and Culture student, incoming into my third year at the university. I was wondering if anyone has ever taken the "Mediterranean in the Ancient and Medieval World" mandatory modules (HHU33311 and HHU33312) -- I can't find any information about them online.

What is the structure like, and what professors teach the classes? Since it's an interdisciplinary module, I imagine a good few professors will be involved.

I was really hoping on getting ahead with some readings before university starts, so any information would be helpful!

Hello! I'm (20 F) not a computer science student but my boyfriend (19 M) is. He just finished his first year of university and it is currently summer break for him. His university is not one that forces you to do random classes in the first two years -- essentially, all of his modules are relevant to his degree from day one. I'm adding this just so people understand that to him, this situation feels more dire since he feels like he has less time to establish himself with tangible projects before his studies finish.

Anyway, the main issue is that he has no ideas for projects to work on over the summer. Specifically, he wants to make projects for his portfolio that would be applicable to an internship in software engineering. When I say that he has no ideas, I mean that he's been thinking for months but has not come up with anything he thinks is valuable. Are there any project ideas that are interesting but also impressive for employers at his stage?

He's conscious of doing something that has a use-case and something that he feels drive for. I'm really worried about him (it feels like this is kind of eating him up) so I hope that someone will have some advice.

I'm a Trinner and not even remotely in a STEM field, so I'm having difficulty helping here. Also, I tried posting this on several other subreddits but I seem to be violating rules on all of them and can't be posted. :(

Hello! I'm here because I feel like I've kind of ran out of all other options.

I'm 20 years old and I was actually born in Ireland, but my parents had only been in the country for three months at the time so I wasn't automatically given Irish citizenship. I've lived in Ireland for my whole live but still haven't been naturalised, partly due to my parents putting it off/it being way too expensive when I was younger and partly due to the very difficult and confusing process.

That is all just to say that my situation is a bit of weird one. In February, I applied for naturalisation and the form seemed to go through fine (on the ISD website, it shows up as "Submitted" in my Forms tab). However, I haven't gotten an update yet at all. Now that I think about it, I'm not even sure if I got a confirmation email like I was supposed to..? I think I did, but now I'm second-guessing and it's just stressing me out.

Is this normal at all? Should it take this long to go through? Though the form shows up as "Submitted," there is nothing under the "Application Submission Complete" tab. Did I do something wrong?

Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thank you guys so much. :(
