Hartley played the role a few times in the past when Kelly was not avaliable, so a familiar face can return in the role of Sam.

They brought back Britt after she was "killed off" and it could happen again with Sam.

As for an explanation, I would bring back the character of Angelica. For those unaware, Angelica is Sam's lookalike who once tried to take over Sam's life. Writers could say that Angelica had Sam kidnapped after the surgery and took her place to take over her life, only to be killed by Cyrus.

Meanwhile, the real Sam is locked up somewhere.

Again, it all depends on the writers.

I mean, her outfit looks similar to Patrick!

Everyone knows about Kuma and Mick, but few know that a third dog actually played Stan in some scenes. Aspen was Mick's double for when Mick was wasn't up for playing Stan on Camera.
