EB3 Skilled - Derivative Interview

Hi everyone, I’m trying to understand if anyone has experienced something similar.

I am the primary applicant in an EB3 Skilled Worker case, and my husband is the derivative on my application. We are both on H-1B visas. On Monday, he received an interview notice scheduled for June 15 at the LA field office. Interestingly, he has already been scheduled for an interview, but I have not received any interview notice or update on my case yet.

USCIS confirmed that he must attend his interview as scheduled and that my case has not yet been called for interview. My case is currently assigned to a different local office in New York, and for now the interview has been waived on my end.

From my understanding, derivative beneficiaries typically cannot be adjudicated before the principal applicant, which is why this situation is confusing to me.

Has anyone experienced a derivative being scheduled for interview before the primary applicant in an EB3 case? If so, how did USCIS handle it in your case? Did the principal interview follow shortly after, or was there a delay in syncing both cases?

Any insight or shared experience would be really appreciated.

Hi everyone,

I’m a foreign-trained attorney planning to sit for the February 2027 bar exam, and I’m starting to prepare early for the accommodations request process.

I have diagnosed dyslexia and ADHD, and I’d like to request testing accommodations. I’m trying to understand what the process actually looks like in practice and how to best prepare a strong application.

If you’ve gone through this before, I’d really appreciate hearing about your experience.

I want to be as proactive as possible, so any advice, tips, or lessons learned would mean a lot.

Thanks in advance!
