Anxiety is high! Will I be okay ?
I had a root canal done on my tooth over 10 years ago and never got a crown on it. I started getting shooting pains in my cheekbone, radiating to my tooth and ears 5 days ago. That was followed by a terrible headache and exhaustion. No pain in my actual teeth, eating, talking, biting, cold/hot etc. No swelling or fever either.
I did a telehealth urgent care appt and got Clindamycin started on Sunday until I could get a dental appt.
I went to a dentist yesterday and although she could see a tiny spot at the root of my tooth, she couldn’t tell if it was an abscess or scar tissue. I was referred to an endodontist to get the root canal retreated, which will be on Friday.
I am very worried though because I am still feeling unwell. I’m getting jolts of pain, dizziness. Nausea. Could I get worse between now(Wednesday) and Friday? I’m afraid something bad is going to to happen if I am still feeling pain after 4 days on antibiotics. I’m taking IB and Tylenol around the clock. Symptoms are much worse at night before bed.
I’m 37. Never smoked. Tooth is obvious in the pic.
