Houston cop misses about 30 shots from about ten yards.

I apologize if this has already made the rounds here. This happened about three months ago. The cop was responding to a report of a suspicious man possibly carrying a bomb in a bag near a school. First, you would think the cop would have already drawn his gun when the guy ignored his commands to drop the bag and reached into it, instead. Then, he completely missed after firing a fusillade of shots. I’ve heard cops have a rep for not being the best shots. Someone needs some mandatory range time. He could have gotten himself or a bystander killed.

Iran fires back at Trump's threat to declare Hormuz a US territory

Trump’s mouth is the biggest impediment to any kind of settlement with Iran. His psychological need to gaslight and bully, which has served him so well in American politics, is utterly ineffective against Iran, and is actually totally counterproductive.

Tactical Dress Slacks for Pocket Carry?

Ok, kind of a click-baity headline, but these are pretty cool.

My wife bought me a few pairs of Fabletics dress slacks a couple years ago. I just now noticed that they have a secondary zip-up pocket in the right side that is pretty large. It’s nice because in some environments I might want that zipped up, and in others I want it easily accessible.

The pocket is huge. I’m currently carrying my Ruger LCP Max and it disappears in there. I can also fit my Kahr PM9 or even my Shield plus. The shield is a bit much, but once I get a pocket holster, it’s nice to know I can carry my 9mm Kahr in there.

It also gives you the benefit of a second pocket for an extra mag, or whatever. Although I wouldn’t want anything in there that could mess with the trigger through fabric since I’m using a soft holster.

It also prints less since there are two layers of fabric covering it.

Twin Falls Embraces Man Who Confronted Idaho In-N-Out Shooting (Gift Article)

“Mr. Salinas had trained for this moment for years, studying videos of drills online in case he ever had to protect his brother and others from a potential mass shooting. He had been shooting guns for even longer — since he was in grade school, he said, if not before. Back then he shot at a broken television in the backyard. Over the years, he had drawn his gun only at targets.

He had long wondered about how he would react to an active shooter. Now, he was looking down his sight at another man.”

The Bond Market Is Signaling Rising Risks. Investors Should Listen.

https://www.nytimes.com/2026/08/07/business/bonds-stocks-federal-reserve-interest-rates.html?smid=nytcore-ios-share

“What the bond market has been saying lately is that risks are rising: risks of increased inflation; wars and tariffs and other geopolitical dislocations; questionable use of vast sums of capital to build artificial intelligence; an uncertain direction for the Fed under new leadership; mounting national debt; and broad political dysfunction.”
