Hi all, I rented a SIG P365X at the range today and I hated how much recoil it had and how it felt like it would shift around with every shot I took. I was initially looking for something small but now I want something more manageable when it comes to recoil. Anyone have recs for the $500 or less range? Thanks!

So I picked up a BG 2.0 Carry comp a while back when I found one at a steal of a price. I typically carry either a P365 X macro or my trusty 19. I have large hands in the way of long fingers and am right handed. I am a “fairly” proficient shooter.

For the life of me I cannot seem to shoot the Bodyguard straight. At 10 yards nearly all of my shots are left by like 6-7”. I feel like it’s my grip, because I have no where for my support hand to go, if I make room, the slide bites my right thumb, so sometimes I try a cup grip and today I even tried just holding my wrist with my support hand.

So I come to you, wise ones, do you grip it differently? I don’t want to say my hands are too big since I watch guys like Honest Outlaw shoot them perfectly.

Some context. For around a decade i have carried subcompact 9mm. Roughly 2 years ago i had carpal tunnel surgery on my shooting hand. I began to notice my shooting was a bit off and decided to figure it out. Long story short due to hand size and the "less than successful" surgery, a full size pistol was needed. Since going to full size, shooting has drastically improved. Like surprisingly improved.

To the point. I have done some research into 5.7x28 (including but not limited to several yt vids by professionals) and while it is not a 9mm and probably not a suitable replacement, it does have its advantages and some over 9mm. So, does anyone carry 5.7? And why?

So, with the CZ Duty being released and the Sig P385 dropping soon. I am curious if anyone has found any early comparisons between the two.

I am personally a fan of manual safeties. And with most polymer/strikers that is generally getting more difficult to find. So I definitely have an interest in these. The FCU modularity is a nice bonus as well.

In my mind these two models seem to compete. So is the community starting to already form a consensus that will help with the success/popularity of one over the other?

Tried the enigma. Doesn't work for me so please don't suggest it. Just wondering if the bag bounces around while running or if the straps dig into your neck. Or if the pull tab bounces all over the place and hits you in the face from the vertical movement. Would love to hear some reviews from runners. I do about 5 miles, 4-5 days a week. I carry either a p365 or a g19.

As far as I can tell, in order to carry weapons on any lake or project covered under US Army Corp of Engineers needs special permission from the District Commander (National Parks are under different laws).

Anyway, I called my local district a few years back and they got me to the right person and had me email them a document with a plain request. In turn, they mailed me permission with a few stipulations: Concealed carry only. No carry in buildings. Must maintain CCW/LTC. Only applies to the listed lakes/projects in the letter. May be revokes if XYZ. Etc.

Recently, I started emailing all districts I may visit, and so far they are replying, asking for a DL and CCW, and issuing a similar letter (1 sent it via email, the rest I am waiting to hear back).

Anyway, I wanted to share this experience and info since there are a number of USACE public lakes where you are federally prevented from carrying weapons (even in your car) just because USACE is involved. You may not even realize this is the case.

You too can email them a request with your info and they should give you permission as well.

That's my experience anyway. Recently got my first dot. I did not want to go with red because of having astigmatism and the feedback seems to be that green is easier to see with an astigmatism. I understand that the eyeballs are more sensitive to the green wavelengths. Well I got my site and it is not washed out in the least bit by a green foliage background. I live in the deep South and my backyard is a lush green. my back lot line is a heavy tree backstop with multiple shades of green. Even at a lower illumination setting, the site really stands out. It is such an unnatural shade of fluorescent green It's easy to see against any color backstop, even green. In my experience it's just no issue whatsoever.
