Picked up an Olight PLX for the G45.6. Showing a comparison between the PLX, TLR7 HLX Sub, and an older TLR1. Fresh batteries in the Streamlights and a full charge on the PLX.

Very surprised by the output. Both spot and flood light variants are brighter than the TLR1. The low power mode (not shown) is more like the TLR1. The Sub is comparable, but comes in at $70 more and doesnt have all the options.

Durability and longevity will be seen over time, but Im really digging the PLX. The esthetics with the SE DPP is mint.

10k+ rounds in a few months on this setup. First problem with the sight happened yesterday. Few dozen rounds in and a bolt sheers off the optic. I dont notice right away, few more rounds Im shooting way off POA, then realize my optic is bouncing around loosely with one screw barely holding on. The snap was pretty gnarly. 15 degree angle at the WRONG direction to making for an easy extraction. Luckily I am not an idiot and work on my own stuff lol. Punched nearly center through and used an extractor bit to walk it out. If there's one thing I will never not spend the extra money on, its an Irwin's extractor set. Ran a tap and die set (Irwin too) back through the hole to clean it up. Now I have to break the slide apart and get all the nice metallic bits out that inevitably fell down inside.

Shot Osight a warranty email, they are sending out new screws without so much as a question asked. Was nice to see, but I am going to grab some Battlewerx just to be safe. Outside of that, the XR is awesome.

Buddy is looking to sell a '94 4.0 inline 6 5 speed. 232k miles, motor rebuilt at 217k miles, clutch replaced 6 months ago, brakes done earlier this year, 1 year old tires. Found out today the 4x4 isnt working (he didnt even know). Comes with a CJ7 hard top with 3rd brake light, half doors, and half door glass (all are in pretty good shape). Comes with a new rear bench for the kiddos. Asking $5.5k prior to realizing 4x4 is bad, price will go down as such...yet to be discussed. Looking for input from those familiar with the market.

Couple issues:

1. Passenger rear leaf mount is pretty shot (included with the deal is a bracket kit to replace the damage frame/spring mount)

2. 4x4 not working issue, undiagnosed culprit yet

3. Both driver and passenger floor pan are rusted through

4. Believe there's an exhaust manifold leak, pretty gnarly fume smell (yes the tops off, but "tractor tick" at startup is pretty apparent)

My intent is just a fun mess around vehicle for the kids to experience. I have ample access to fix things accordingly but not Iooking for a massive project. The idea of keeping for a few years to enjoy and selling it back to my buddy is likely to happen.

What do you folks thing? Yay, nay, and if yay....whats a reasonable price? This is my buddy and im not looking to short change him but also dont want to be washed out in the process.

Picked up some Amazon special bands that seemed to have decent reviews. Nylon with black hardware...nice so far. Survived a day at the waterpark, dried quickly.

Is there any way to record a lift without having to count sets/reps and rest periods? Maybe just trick it with a cardio session? On an Instinct 3 AMOLED.

Ive been powerliftng for nearly 2 decades and dont care to log workouts anymore. Mainly wanted to track aerobic and working Ioad stats but still positively affect my training score with the appropriate designations (runs when I run, lifts when I lift, etc).

Posted on the main Garmin sub a few days ago looking for advice on a new device to grab. After a decade+ with my poor old Casio, it was time. Settled on the Instinct 3 AMOLED after a Iot of mental gymnastics back and forth between various units. Less than 24 hours with the watch....bit of an information overload coming from years of a standard digital watch...but it's been nice so far.

One person mentioned grabbing a Nylon band (will be here today), a screen protector, and dust cover for the charging port. Both of the latter items are already installed.

Looking for other pointers from long time Garmin smart watch users. Hardware, apps, various tips and tricks to optimize my time with the device.

My poor 12 year old Casio on its 78th replacement band is finally so scratched and mutilated that it is nearly unreadable. Looking at picking up a Garmin for fitness/sleep tracking. I recently tried a FitBit Air and it was okay but having the Casio (left) and FB Air (right) on simultaneously was irritating so I returned it.

Im looking at the Vivoactive 5, Vivoactive 6, Venu 3, or Instinct 3. I'm a cheap bastard hence the Venu 3 over the 4 (what a pricetag) and the only reason the Vivo 6 is in the running is the price is negligible and it comes with better sensors apparently. Instinct 3 is in there due to its supposed high structural integrity.

One concern is my left arm is tattooed and I understand sensors have issues sometimes with tattooed arms but those anecdotal reports are all over the place in regards to accuracy/functioning properly.

Watch would primarily be used for tracking powerlifting sessions (6 days a week), cardio input from those sessions and various HIIT at the track, and sleep tracking (my primary focus for getting one as my sleep has been shit as long as I can remember).

But as you can see by the photo, I am NOT gentle with my watches. They stay on 24/7. I lift, circuit race sport bikes, split wood, snorkel, weld stuff, and everything in between with one on...so I am afraid that leaves me to the Instinct 3 to at least survive near 24/7 use.

Any input from the community?

Traditionally AIWB but picked up a Vertyx on sale to try out. First time out with it. Worked down to high 1.3's draw to first shot (after many reps). Will still AIWB most of the time but nice to see the bag isnt as much of a handicap as I thought it would be...with some practice.

This is the first video I took. First live fire with the setup. Left the mistakes in the video because idgaf.

Picked up a low profile and regular extended mag release for the RXMs (meant for Glocks). My only issue was sometimes having to break strong hand grip when reloading...these seem like theyll fix the issue. Some very light sanding and they fit perfectly. Also tossed on the Handleits last night.

I started with the 4" RXM as a cheap fun pickup to tinker with. Quickly turned into a solid EDC. Liked it so much I decided to pickup another range toy so went with the 4.5" since theyre so cheap. Picked it up this morning and decided to mess with Rit Dye since its a range gun and grips are replaceable, if I mess it up no harm no foul. Turned out okay. Misjudged the factory grey/blue color playing into the final outcome and making this more blue and less green. Was my first time so trial and error.

All in all, short of adding Handleits I have sitting on my desk, these things dont need anyrhing. Solid out the box. Excited to hit the range this weekend and get the few first hundred through it.

Giving the new RXM a shot as we traveled north for the weekend. A simple "pocket dump" post.

I think I have found the Hellcat Pro Comp's EDC replacement, and I wasnt even looking to replace it. I've only had it since November of last year and have nearly 4k through it. I am efficient with it and enjoy it a lot. But, day 2 with the Ruger RXM (nearly 700 rounds between yesterday and today) and I am sold. I dont know what it is, but I just connect with it. I left from shooting yesterday and stopped by the gun shop to order the 4.5 before heading home 🤷‍♂️. I cant put my finger on what it is...but I like the idea of how cheap and modular it is and without ANY modifications I am on par, if not slightly quicker/more accurate with it than the HCPc through which I have a lot of experience with (that has a 3.5lb MCARBO on it that is extremely nice, the RXM is bone stock).

A buddy I was with today will likely buy the HCPc as he enjoys it so I won't see a massive trade in loss and he will get a good discount as well for all the goodies + holsters.

Ruger RXM compact (4") with Osight SE, OEM Glock mag, and an Eclipse.

Everything but the Osight are new brands to me. The optic mounts perfect but since I plan to EDC this, I went with the smaller Osight which led to a pretty gnarly gap between rear post and base of the optic. DPP plate inbound just to fill out the esthetic.

First impressions:

Grip texture is perfect. Might not even grab any Talons or Handleit grips like I usually do.

Optic mounting system is a plus with removable posts for almost whatever footprint you want to mount, just be wary of the optic size vs footprint or you'll end up with a gap like mine without a plate.

Trigger is surprisingly good. Already a few dozen dry fire reps through it. Positive reset with an audible click.

Eclipse appears well made, solid thickness, form fitted, retention is great. Conceals well (5' 10" 175lbs athletic build).

Will have it all out this weekend to run a few hundred rounds through it. Ultimate goal is to test run the platform then pickup the full size if I like it enough as the price tag is attractive for a f*ck around gun platform.

Range/competition pistol. After adding extreme sandpaper grips (absolutely awesome), I've been finding it a tad difficult to reach the OEM mag release due to the grip simply being that good that manipulating the firearm isnt as easy before I added them.

Appears the Rook and Apex are out of stock. Tyrant seems to not be much of a change in "extension" from factory. Down to Powder River as the only available.

Anyone have experience with the Powder River extended mag release? It appears to be a tad larger on the forward face of it and more flush towards the rear (compared to OEM).

Working on from the holster singles (1x) and doubles (2x) for draw to first shot times/.2 splits from the 10 yard line then 5 shot volleys (5x) from low ready working on support hand grip consistency today from roughly 16 yards averaging sub .25 split minimum every round. The two untaped Charlie's were from the very last 15 yard 5x drill for a mags worth (20, so 18/20 alphas). All in all, roughly 300 rounds here.

Groin (and head obviously) were from other body armor drills I had run earlier.
