Need help identifying grants or programs for purchase of a utility tractor for a small farm.

My fiance and I bought a disused farm to build our house on in Wisconsin. We plan on reviving the farm as a fruit farm (apples, raspberries, blueberries), starting on ten acres of the land. We are starting by borrowing a skid steer from a friend, but obviously need our own equipment. A used utility tractor for $20k to $30k would suit our needs well.

I was wondering if anyone is familiar with grants for an equipment purchase like this. I primarily don’t want a loan, if possible, due to tapping out with debt to income ratio on the build, however if there was a low interest low payment farm loan, that might work.

If Traudl Junge didn’t know about the holocaust, then what secretary would have?

Serious question or debate. In her book she claims that she did not know about the horrors of the Nazis, such as the holocaust. How could this be? I think it would be impossible for Hitler to never have discussed genocide in any official way in a meeting or in correspondence.

In any professional or government organization there are meeting minutes kept. I would think it would be impossible for Hitler and his subordinates to never have discussed plans for genocide, or the status thereof, in any meeting. This was a significant part of their plans both in military conquest and in retreat. So who would have been taking the meeting minutes? Who would have been distributing the minutes or filling them?

Also, in communication, with subordinates, Hitler would have dictated to a secretary the content, who would then officially write them up. There had to of been correspondence on genocide. I mean after all, the Nazi party declared several places Judenfrei to the press, so we know this was communicated about in an official capacity. If not Traudl, then who?

I know a head of state would have had multiple secretaries, so if Traudl only handled lighter and more mundane things, then who would have handled the rest?

The new squeeze after a decade with a Ruger LC9S Pro

Decided to upgrade. My LC9S Pro has never been 100% reliable and there’s no good lights for it anyway. Might still keep the oldie in rotation for deep concealment.

Anyone experience a concealed carry class being a gun free zone? The irony.

I live in a place where you have to take a CC class every five years to maintain your CCL. Needless to say, many people, like me, have been carrying for years and are only there to tick a box and send the $100 bribe to the Sheriff so we can carry another five years.

One would think that as an instructor you would be pro carry, and that you would know many people in your class are already licensed, so why put a sign on your door saying no guns allowed? Now I have to walk home to dump my gat (I live in the neighborhood, nice summer morning, so yes, I walked) to go back to a class about carrying guns where the smooth brain also doesn’t believe in carrying guns in their class!

Any of you guys experience this level of irony so early in the morning?

A tale of colossal leading with FMJ bullets

In the past year I have really been getting into reloading and shooting .45 ACP since I got an MC Operator and USP 45. In the past I have loaded and shot large amounts of 9 mm reloads from my Glock 17, Beretta 92FS, and USP9, all with great success. I have a beautiful load using Armscor 124 GM FMJ pills and 5.3 grains of CFE Pistol. SD is tight and I’m getting 1155 FPS which is great since it’s inline with my Gold Dots. There’s almost no fouling from these loads when I shoot.

Anyhow, on to the .45 ACP. I created a load using Armscor 230 grain FMJ pills over 5.7 grains of Win 231 at 822 FPS, a great clone of the mil spec loading. I worked this loading up using my M1911A1 (that flew with the Blue Diamonds, very nice). This gat has one of those chrome lined barrels that the navy was putting in them in the 1990’s. I didn’t get much fouling in this barrel, probably because of the chrome, so I loaded up 2000 rounds.

Now time for the nightmare. I got my MC Operator and started operating. It’s a slick pistol, probably my favorite, and I love shooting it under nods. There’s just one twist, the thing was fouling worse than anything I’ve seen. It was getting to the point that after a couple hundred rounds the grooves were filled with what looked like tree bark and accuracy was falling off.

I thought that the barrel just needed to be broken in since the rifling was so sharp since it’s a semi match grade barrel. Cleaning this barrel took hours. I would soak, and scrub with a brush, then with a chore boy, then scrub again, all barely making any progress. I did this for 1500 rounds, rinse and repeat. I got a USP and thought that I wouldn’t have a problem since it has polygonal rifling. Well fuck me, that thing clogged up too. Then I got to thinking, what if it’s lead!

Yes, lead, that old cold bitch of a metal. But how was I getting lead with FMJ rounds? I thunk and think until I drew a hypothesis. What if the powder burn is scorching the bare base of the bullet and ablating lead which then is depositing on the barrel walls? Well there was only one way to figure out if this was lead or carbon. I loaded my same load up for 200 rounds, save for one change, using 230 grain Speer TMJ bullets instead of the old trusty Armscor bullets. Well I shot 100 rounds of those out of my MC Operator today and lo and behold, there was minimal fouling. A few scratches with the bronze brush and six patches later and that bitch is clean. It must be an ablative lead coating after all!

Well, before I did this test I loaded up 2,000 more of these problem pills so I have to live with colossal lead for a while unless any of you cool dudes know an easy chemical way to remove the lead.

Drink more beer, luv ya all!

Typical Blazer quality, and ghosted by their customer service team. Buyer beware.

Sure, it may be a small thing to complain about having a defective round, but it’s even more annoying when you call, they offer to send you new ammunition, and then they ghost you for more than a week so far.

Who else is actually laying on their back doing these small paint corrections?

It’s been a few years since I’ve done this. Truck is on deck next.

Do any of you have a recommendation for an engineer to design a basement for a new build house? We are looking at a modular to be set on a basement. The basement may be difficult due to the lay of our land and we want to make sure such a critical part of the house build is absolutely correct.
