Three boxes of milsurp

Top to bottom,

1: Vintage 20-round box of Brazilian military ammunition, likely produced in the late 1960s or early 1970s. The label indicates the box contains .30-06 Springfield caliber ammunition, designated as "Car. 7 M1 Ft Lam" might be for blank ammunition in clips. The box is sealed so no ammo pictures

2: This is a vintage 1938 World War II German military 8x56R ammunition box. Cartridge and headstamp shown.

3: This is a box of 15 rounds of Yugoslavian 7.92x57mm Mauser ammunition, manufactured in December 1955. The label indicates "univerzalnim zrnom" identifying it as ball ammunition. The box is sealed so no ammo pictures

In case you didn’t know, Steinel makes a 777g bullet for the 45-70. Which is 27g heavier than the average .50 bmg bullet

9mm and 5.56 for size comparison. I will be posting a video of these rounds once my bowers vers 458 is out of jail

Winchester Ranger 64gr .223

Scored 13 boxes for $10 each. Checked all the carton lot numbers against the recall, and none are affected. Looking forward to running a few boxes to confirm zero and reliability—this will be my home defense load.

Some .22 rf shorts with frangible bullets.

I think the Winchester's have copper cases. I like the Speed headstamp on the Remington's

Ok… I’m stumped. Expand for more information.

I recently inherited some things from my father, and I was going through them and came across this cylinder.

The throat measures approximately .357
The chamber diameter measures approximately .460
The chamber length is approximately 1.265 from the rear face of the cylinder to the throat.

What caliber is this? And what does the cylinder look like it fits?

A 44 special chambers. It’s almost like it’s a 44 magnum necked down to a 357.

Episode one of ancient ammo my grandfather left me

Avid shooter, not a collector. Found a box of what I believe is ww2 era 45 auto in pristine condition.

Some 32 Rim Fire

I mostly focused on the boxes for today. Maybe some day I will post more about individual rounds of ammo with clearer headstamps and bullet shots.

Got some copper washed russian snacks for my Polish PDW

Recent auction pickup. Would have been a killer deal if the packing/shipping company didnt screw me bad. Still a good deal though.

Some 38 Rim Fire.

I have a bunch of these, more than I am showing today. That 38 extra-long is pretty rare; I don't have a box of them. Notice the two different size H headstamps for Winchester and the recessed US headstamp. That U can be Union Metallic Cartridge Company or Remington depending on how old it is. The P is of course for Peters.

Academy sports 39cpr 223

Lucked out with the workers and managers today at Academy. First, bought a $350 gift card from DG for $297 (only had 300 extra to spend this week on ammo) Went to Academy, they still had the "hot deal" sticker up for this fiocchi 223 55gr (should have been taken down days ago) Took all they had in stock, 800rnds. Guy working gave me the $23.99/box hot deal price + military 10% + 10% off for 300+ ammo deal. Manager came over and approved all discounts. Real cool workers to do me a solid like that. So all said and done, got 800 rnds of 223 for $291 out the door in real money.

Which of these have you had the best experience with?

The Federal Auto Match was pretty bad in my experience.

Any good civ equivalents to M855A1?

Are there any 5.56 rounds on the market today that give 20" performance out of a 14.5" like the M855A1 was designed to do?

Today's boxes to share.

The Peters rounds are correct for their box; the Western is not correct for either box. The WRA might be correct for one of the Winchester boxes but I don't know. The thing with open boxes is that somebody might have just used it for whatever ammo they have.

Ammo ID? Found in old belt.

Found a row of these in an old leather belt I found in my shed - I assumed it was costume stuff, but when one fell out I realized it seems real? There were two types, placed in alternating slots on the belt. (Bullets & blanks?). Really tiny gauge - about 5mm diameter, maybe 23mm long.

The belt is marked “The George Lawrence Co., Portland Oregon”. And the bullets seem to be marked with a U and some text logo on the other.

Any ID or help appreciated. Any harm in trying to clean them up?

PDX1 Defender Style Shells w/ Pyrodex?

These are 12 Ga. shells that use a mix of a 1oz rifled slug with 3 pellets of 00 buck. Would such a load be safe to reproduce using pyrodex?

For Today, 6 boxes of 32 WCF (32-20)

Interesting for the different labels, various makers and loadings and primers with imprints. Two boxes of shot loads by two different manufacturers. Three different Winchester boxes and a box of Remington black powder loads.

One box from my collection.

Box is a little rough, but it has the full 10 rounds. If people find this interesting, I will share more photos of my collection.

Another box, rare pistol ammo this time.

I don't know which is rarer, the pistol or a full box of ammo. I have both the gun and the ammo. I make my own reloads from 32-20 brass, it is larger in diameter than 32 S&W long.

And the beat goes on.

Another full box, 10 cartridges, they do seem to have the indicated Copper tube bullets, but they are drawn brass not coiled brass. The right side of the box is missing.
