Print check/ recommendations for better holster
Print check - could be worse for a .45 I think 🤷🏼♀️- need suggestions on a more comfortable iwb, packing a Ruger American .45 compact - would like leather ideally could do hybrid too
Edit- bc I’ve had a few companies that make kyvex holsters reach out just want to clarify- as I said in my original post comment - looking for leather or a hybrid holster going forward- I currently have a full kydex and my Ruger is reasonably hefty I don’t need the added bulk 🙏🏼 but thank you everyone for the great recs

Question about Trigger Coverage
Hi all, I'm new to all this. I bought a Werkz holster to ccw my hellcat pro. But I've noticed the trigger isnt fully covered up. It makes me a bit uncomfortable. I can fit a pocket knife blade in there and i just am unsure if this is safe to appendix / 2 o'clock carry. Any advice would be appreciated :)
Appendix carry
I got my first daily carry not too long ago, and I've been trying to figure out what the best way to carry is. I like appendix, but I'm a larger guy, and it is extremely uncomfortable to carry that way, so I mostly carry 3 o' clock instead. I'm currently trying to lose the weight so that I can comfortably carry appendix, but in the mean time, can I get a holster thats a little more comfortable, or is it probably always going to be a little uncomfortable, even after I drop the weight?
Shield Plus vs Bodyguard 2.0 for summer/athletic carry — does the Plus actually conceal well enough in shorts?
I carry a Glock 45 with a light and red dot as my daily gun and love it, but during summer when I’m wearing shorts, hiking, biking, workouts — it’s just too much gun to carry comfortably. I want something smaller for those specific times. I’m leaning toward the Shield Plus since I want to stay in 9mm but I keep going back and forth on whether it’s actually small and light enough to disappear under shorts and stay comfortable during real movement, or if I should just go with the Bodyguard 2.0 (.380) instead and accept the trade-off for a gun that’s unquestionably built for this. For carry I’m considering a belly band, a beltless clip-on belt, a low-profile gun belt worn under shorts with a standard IWB holster, or the PHLster Enigma if it’s worth the extra cost. If you carry a Shield Plus (or similar) during hiking, running, or biking — does it actually print or bother you once you’re moving, or does a good holster setup make it a non-issue? And for anyone who’s owned both a Shield Plus and a Bodyguard 2.0, did you end up actually using the smaller gun for this kind of activity, or did the bigger 9mm work fine and the small one just sat in a drawer? Trying to avoid buying something redundant with what I already carry. Thanks
First concealed recommendations
Looking to get my first pistol here soon. Torn between the Glock 43x and SIG P365 XL. I have larger hands so I would lean towards the XL but I have fired my friends 43x a handful of times and do find it pretty comfortable. Part of me also would like to get the Glock given they will be banned to purchase in Maryland January 1st. I’m not just set on those 2 I’m open to anything in a reasonable price range. Here in Maryland I have to pay 3-400$ just to get a license to buy a pistol on top of the carry license which cuts into the overall price I’m able to pay for the piece.
Holster recs
I have a Glock 43X MOS with a red dot and I’m looking for a new appendix carry holster.
For context, I lift regularly. During my last bulk I switched to a Tier 1 Echo for strong-side carry because appendix wasn’t very comfortable. Now that I’m cutting, AIWB is comfortable again, so I’m revisiting my setup. I never found something I liked when I was slimmer. I have a Hunter Constantine belt.
Current holsters:
We The People IWB
Tier 1 Xiphos V2
CrossBreed Freedom Carry
Tier 1 Echo (strong-side)
Right now I’m leaning toward a Tenicor Velo or a Vedder LightTuck. I’m also considering a Tier 1 Axis Elite/sidecar setup.
A few questions:
Is a sidecar actually more comfortable than a simple holster for all-day carry?
Has anyone switched from a Xiphos to a LightTuck or Tenicor Velo and found it noticeably better?
I’ve found that both my We The People and Xiphos really need a wing and wedge to conceal well. Does the Velo’s built-in wedge/camming bar solve that issue?
For those carrying AIWB, what has been your most comfortable setup? Any recommendations are appreciated. Anything outside of this list helps too.
Today's Carry
My 2 main ccw's are down right now, but it's good to have options. 😁
My OG Shield Plus
Blacksmith Tactical Micro Rig Holster
POM OC Spray
Spyderco Para 3 Lightweight
Convince me to not buy and carry a DS 1911.
Basically the title. New to CC and looking to get my first carry handgun. I have a good amount of experience shooting handguns and absolutely love the 1911, so obviously I'm very interested in double stacked 1911 platforms. The 1911 shape fits my hand well and man, I just love the way they shoot and look. Downsides are the hit my wallet would take. Specifically really interested in the Springfield Prodigy 3.5. From my research it seem like Springfield has really improved it from earlier versions.
That being said I know that there are more options than ever and polymer frames are affordable and super reliable and seem like the no brainer choice. I was looking at the Daniel H9 but there's a bunch of reliability concerns with it. Other handguns I'm considering are the FN 509, CZ P-10, S&W Shield.
So yeah, that's basically my post. Would love some input from people with more carry experience. Convince me to not get a DS 1911 (and also the H9 lol). Feel free to roast me and my boomer/unc taste.
First time carrying (MP2 4" Compact) — thoughts?
Hey everyone, beginner here getting ready to start carrying a 4" S&W M&P 2.0 Compact (no light right now, but might add a red dot down the road).
Thoughts on this setup?
Holster: JM Custom kydex AIWB Wing Claw 2.5
Attachment: 1.5" DCC Monoblock?
Belt: Hunter Constantine Carry Belt or Tenicor Zero?
I would try it out at home first.
I took this of myself a couple months ago, do you know what the Springfield XDM elite is 🤤 out of all the guns that could’ve been discontinued. This one should’ve blown up.
Holster Recommendations
Hey so I'm a guy on the bigger side (6 foot 260+ lbs with a belly) and my handgun is a Springfield XD Mod 3 ( not exactly small). Dont have the funds to get a smaller gun, but I could rationalize a decent concealed holster, but id like some recommendations if anyone would have any!
Edit Bonus points if its available on amazon
Trying out the Ulticlip
was wondering if the hype was worth it. Grips like no tomorrow, and its loads thinner than the plastic clip that came on my holster. I haven’t tried it on drawstring shorts or sweats yet, but as a regular CCW clip its functioning great.
Owb holster p365
Looking for a good owb holster. I think maybe a paddle or some type of clip. There are so many options out there, hopefully this doesn't confuse me even more. Id like something i can easily take off when I get into the car. Something that is pretty concealed when I wear a shirt over and also secure. Id like one that locks my gun in to some extent, snaps in place. Just staring to carry so new to most of this.
Feels good to be working with kydex again!
I made kydex holsters for over 7 years and made the tough decision to shut the business down during Covid. After some time away and also some time dabbling in leather, I’ve decided to get back into it.
A few more tweaks and this holster style will be ready to go!
This holster is made from scratch. I downloaded the 3D scan and built the mold in CAD, 3D printed the mold and built a vacuum forming table to bring my methods up to modern times.
It’s been a really fun challenge to take something I once did and learn how to do it better with updated technology!

Summary
I know this question gets asked here quite a lot and believe me when I tell you that this is a topic I have been researching thru Reddit and YouTube for a couple weeks now.
During my research marathon, I stumbled across the Aegitec Hybrid Tactical Belt being mentioned a lot, so you best believed I ordered myself one on Amazon.
I am 6ft and currently weigh about 210 pounds.
I’ve read alot comes down your set up - that being your weight, belt, and holster.
I’m looking to carry my gun exactly as it is now as my current holster I sourced locally does not support a light.
The brand(s) I’ve seen mentioned the most are Tier 1 Concealed, Tenicor, Tulster, JM Custom Kydex, T-Rex Arms, Safariland, and Vedder.
With so many competitors and options, and few allowing returns, especially on custom order(s).
What brand/holster have you had most success with?
How do you carry when it's hot?
I have a Springfield echelon 4.0c and I got my CHP in May. But I'm finding that if I want to carry while I'm in a t-shirt it has to be at least 3 sizes to big so I don't print. Literally every T-shirt I own that fits well, will print to the point I have to choose between being comfortable or carrying.
