The knights find a girl with magic in the woods, Merlin decides to leave
Hi everyone, I’m looking for a fic on AO3. It’s in my bookmarks, but is currently listed as “Mystery work”, so I think it might be N16’s.
The plot goes like this: the knights, Arthur and Merlin go out on a hunt and discover a girl who tried to light a fire with magic. They restrain her and are set on taking her to Camelot with them for a trial. Merlin tries to convince Arthur that the girl’s innocent and says something along the lines of “how do you think I know this?”, but that gets him nowhere. So he takes the waterskins, fills them and leaves them at the river, fully intending to leave. Arthur stops him though and they have a quiet conversation about Merlin’s magic.
I loved it and would like to read again, but I can’t seem to remember the name or the author to look for it in the wayback machine
