Admitted as a low stat applicant!

Hope all is well, and wishing everyone luck in this new application cycle! I know this is quite late, but I just received my acceptance letter to dental school a couple of weeks ago as a low-stat applicant!

I had a 3.3 cGPA, 3.2 sGPA, 19 DAT, 20 TS, and 22 PAT. I took a gap year following graduation to work and got rejected from all 10 schools I applied to during that year (2023-2024 cycle). I decided to pursue a 2 master's program with a thesis through one of the dental schools I applied to.

I have to say it was one of the best decisions I made. I ended with a 3.8 GPA, am currently pursuing my first publication, met many future colleagues, and am now admitted to the same school I pursued the master's through! Additionally, I'm a non-traditional student, starting at the age of 25, turning 26 towards the end of this year.

I know it is a very stressful time, and it can be very hard not to compare ourselves to others who may be doing much better in terms of stats and extracurriculars. Trust me, I frequented this Reddit a lot when I was applying. I just wanted to give all the low-stat applicants some hope that there are many avenues to get into dental school!

True 100% playthrough finally completed after 6 months!

After 6 long months of off-and-on grinding, I finally did everything you can do in this game besides the DLC content. For those who don't know, achieving a true 100% playthrough requires completing these tasks:

  • 15 main quests, 76 side quests, and 42 shrine quests
    • Only completed 36 shrine quests since some glitch and won't let you complete them after finding the shrine
    • Destroy Ganon never marks as complete despite beating it, so only 14/15 main quests
  • Finding all 120 shrines and opening all chests within
  • Recording all 385 Hyrule Compendium entries, thereby unlocking the Classified Envelope Key Item
  • Defeating all mini bosses (40 Talus, 40 Hinox, and 4 Molduga), thereby unlocking all 3 Medals of Honor Key Items
  • Obtaining all 8 Horse Bridle Pieces
  • Finding all 900 Korok Seeds, thereby unlocking Hestu's Gift Key Item
  • Obtaining all 62 armor pieces and 192 armor upgrades
  • Finding all 350 map locations
  • 100% map completion on the Sheikah Slate

This was the second Zelda game I've ever played (First being Spirit Tracks when it was first released), and dare I say, it is one of the most enjoyable gaming experiences I've had. It's saddening that I am finally putting this game to rest, but I may come back for a second playthrough or purchase the DLC. This community has helped me along the way, and I couldn't have done it without all of the dedicated players here.
