Finishing a Breath of the Wild journal made me appreciate the game even more

Over the past several months, I've been working on something a little unusual. I replayed Breath of the Wild, but instead of just playing through it, I wrote the entire journey as if Link were documenting his own adventure.

What started as a way to stay connected to the playthrough between busy weeks of work and family life gradually became something much more.

Writing from Link's perspective forced me to slow down. Instead of methodically rushing toward objectives like a task list I'm optimizing for efficiency, I paid attention to the landscape, the ruins, the weather, and the quiet moments between major story beats. I found myself thinking less about "completing a game" and more about what Link would do and how he would experience his travels across Hyrule.

When I finally finished the diary, I realized I'd experienced the game differently. It felt less like I had checked another title off my backlog and more like I had documented a journey that I was fully immersed in.

It also made me appreciate just how much environmental storytelling was packed into Hyrule. There were places I'd walked through before without much thought that suddenly became memorable because I had to find the words to describe them.

I'm curious if anyone else has ever done something similar—not necessarily writing a diary, but finding a way to engage with this game that completely changed how you experienced it.

***Only adding the journal link given the interest. I’m not the best writer but I love how it helps me experience games: https://tallymangaming.com/zelda-botw/

Apple Korok question

I’m in Hyrule Field trying to sort out this Korok. What is puzzling me is the tree on the right doesnt have an apple. It was like this when I showed up. Not really sure what to make of it. I’ve reloaded several times and the apple hasn’t been there.

If it helps, this is my third attempt after a blood moon. First time I blew up the middle tree with a bomb fighting some rock dudes. Second time lightning exploded the middle tree for some reason. Now I’m back again and unsure if I’m just doing the puzzle wrong or if I’m having a program issue with the game.

Absolute killer Shrine quest

This shrine quest was so random just exploring the places in search for Shrines. Loved it .. so hooked 😍😁

Loaded my master mode save after a couple years.

Somehow I got off the plateau without doing shrines, and I have the paraglider. Never used any glitches so idk how this is possible

107 Rüstungsteile aber nur 100 Plätze, welche 7 sollte ich opfern🥀?

Hello,

I'm planning to play Breath of the Wild again on the Switch 2 after years and also aim for 100% completion. However, you only have 100 armor slots available, even though there are 107 armor pieces including the Amiibo figures. Therefore, I have to forgo 7 armor pieces. That's why I need more opinions, as I don't know all the armor pieces or have them memorized.

So the question is in the title, and thanks to everyone who read it and especially to those who answered. ❤️

*Furthermore, I apologize for any translation errors, as I had to translate this message into English using a translator.

That was a beautiful game

After buying the game a few months ago and getting heavily involved, I have finally defeated Ganon and most of the side quests. It still feels like there's so much left to do.
