AIO over my boyfriend not being receptive and disagreeing about the cuban government?
Hi!! I am Cuban with parents who were cuban immigrants that had to flee the country. Cuba was brought up to the conversation idk how. He started by saying that it is the Cuban peoples fault because they supported castro into power. I explained that the Cuban people did not know that fidel was going to do that because he promised democracy. the people that support him now are bad because they support the dictatorship. He says he disagrees because it is the Cuban people fault and that he doesnt understand how a dictatorship could run a county for 80 years. He says that Cuban people should have led a revolution to overtake the corrupt government by now. I tried tk explain that we tried and that its not that easy but he didnt listen and said he was tired of talking about it and wanted to play COD. I got frustrated and cried because those are my people, my family still lives there and my parents were the only people to get out. My parents almost died there and im just so offended that he thinks like this.
edit: hes also having this conversation in front of his parents knowing they hate me bcs im not religious
