My cool amnesiac abilities

I always love outsmarting my players and getting around the intended scripts!

Rules of good amne abilities:

  1. they should be multi-part
  2. they should be something NOBODY else would ever think of
  3. they should be the main character and prevent the game from being normal and boring and basic with that trouble brewing virgin energy

Recently, I ran a game that no one could die at night while the amnesiac lived. It was honestly Ben Burns-coded of me. And that was only one part of the ability!

Here’s some of my other great ideas:
- The demon cannot be taken off the block while the amnesiac lives
- All bluffs are in-play roles. (SETUP ability) if a minion uses one of these bluffs the storyteller will bring everyone back to the town square and out them publicly
- Each night, learn the alignment of the player your feet are pointing toward. If pointing to two players, information is arbitrary. If you have three feet, win the game automatically
- Every time the amnesiac enters private conversations, the storyteller talks over all of the players and follows them. If the amnesiac can yell louder, wake them up and ask them to pick a non-integer number. Round to the 10th role on the character sheet no matter what and show the player with that role

Really nobody STs better than me! You’ll never play games like my games.

Boffin but it’s good

Recently in my quick word search through the almanac, I found some really boring jinxes. Namely, the demon not having the Heretic, the Ogre, or the Politician ability. Because I’m a master Storyteller, I needed a way around them.

BRILLIANCE STRUCK. There was no jinx about the Hermit!

I made a script with those outsiders and the most uneventful townsfolk possible (Soldier, Fool, Atheist so I didn’t have to wake everyone up). Then, I bagged the Boffin and gave the Hermit ability.

The Demon, learning they had the Heretic ability through the hermit, planned to kill themselves. They ogre picked the Soldier, which turned them good. I stared them down at night until I saw realization hit about what happened. If they died as the good demon, good would lose, so they would lose.

The Demon asked me what to do, and I, being the neutral ST, told them they had the Politician ability. I read the ability text multiple times right in their ear. They believed they would be the most responsible player for good losing if they killed themselves, and could still win with evil.

So the Demon killed themselves that night. I went to a grim reveal and announced that evil had won, except for the demon. I ruled that the Politician didn’t flip their alignment, since the Boffin gave them the ability and was the player most responsible for the good team losing. I then told them I didn’t want Storyteller feedback because I know I’m right and fun doesn’t matter.

Try this in your games! It’ll ensure new and exciting outcomes like this!

My players hate the Boomdandy

My table is being completely unreasonable, I need to talk to real Storytellers.

Day one, Town executed the Boomdandy. I registered the Recluse as the demon and killed the Shabaloth. Then, when town pointed at the Recluse in final 3 (that wasn’t supposed to happen), I registered the Recluse as good.

I tried to explain at grim that Storytellers should use evil abilities to help evil, but my players say things like that it was unwinnable and that I’m dumber than a Mutant’s tent. Every great artist is unappreciated in their time.

Pit Hag + Generative AI Jinx

My ST triggered Claude’s safety filters during the night. Is this a valid Pit Hag change?

For clarity the Doomsayer was in, and the ST was making the game quicker like the almanac says. Rules as written.
