I wanted to share a new format my friends and I have been playing that we think is really fun.

The format is as follows: You start by each buying a prerelease kit, and you keep an inventory of all the cards that you open from it. These cards are now what's in your "pseudo collection." Then you all agree to a weekly budget that you spend on packs and the cards you open from such packs are added to your pseudo collection (for my group it's 2 packs per week). Then you basically craft whatever legal deck you can make from cards in your pseudo collection. You are also not allowed to buy singles for your pseudo collection, you can only use cards from packs that you open. The idea is that instead of everyone constantly having an optimized deck with 4 of the best card every time, you play with exactly what you get like a draft, but your collection also slowly grows. Also you can have any number of basic lands. Of course this format relies on the honor system and having a good group of friends, but it's genuinely a lot of fun and you should try it if you have not already.

Eating outside in a slight drizzle is enjoyable

Earlier today I was eating outside with some friends and it started to slightly drizzle. One of them suggested we eat inside and everyone agreed. I said that it is not raining that badly and it is nice to eat outside in a slight drizzle, but nobody agreed with me. Since I wanted to sit with everyone else, I decided to just go indoors as well. I do think it is nice to sit out in a slight drizzle though, as it can cool you down if you're eating hot food and it adds to the atmosphere.

It actually really does matter who started it

When I was younger, teachers and parents would always tell me it doesn't matter who started it, what matters is who will be the better person and resolve the conflict. While I don't disagree with the sentiment of want conflicts to come to a resolution, in my opinion it really does matter who started it and it is indeed the crux of any problem. A person who intentionally hurts you while you have done nothing to them is a bully. A person who hits your car on the road while you are minding your business is the one at fault. Killing someone in self defense absolves you from any guilt if the other person *started* to attack you. It feels kind of indefensible to say the person starting the conflict won't always have at least some guilt.
