Help? I don't know what to say to my parents.

For starters, I'm a 13 yr old who loves beatboxing a lot. On the other hand, my entire family absolutely hates it. Half of them don't even know what I'm referring to when I talk about beatbox. I've been doing this for ~7 months now, and I've gotten my parents' approval to participate in a national competition next year (mainly because I wouldn't stop nagging them). The problem is, I've been self-learning beatboxing for this entire time and now I've hit something similar to writer's block, where I seriously think I need some paid lessons to continue progressing in the direction I want. I suggested it to my family (not just my parents) and they immediately started arguing that beatboxing would be dangerous and that it'd damage my throat and that it would ruin my teeth development and make them crooked (I have braces). They also said that it'd affect my grades (I currently excel academically and I've stayed that way for a few years already). Any reasoning after that and they immediately shot it down with "hell no I'm not paying for that crap". To be honest it's roughly 44 USD to 178 USD depending on how many people I learn with (solo is 178). They also think that becausae the sounds don't "sound natural" they're bad for the throat (I tried showing them tongue bass and inward clickrolls and they were like "omg what is that stop it you're going to damage your throat" but when I vocalized them they were like "that's a nice little trill you've got there, see it sounds natural and nice"). Any ideas or suggestions on what I could say to them? Does anyone have experience on this type of criticism?
