Connected Policies is just data harvesting in disguise
Monzo’s new “Connected Policies” beta feature is worded and appears in such a way that you would think it connects to your policy provider in order to show your insurance policy in the Monzo app for your convenience.
It’s not that at all.
The app asks you for your policy information including the provider, the amount you pay, your policy number and your renewal date and then just slaps it into a section in the app without connecting to anything. It’s a glorified note, except Monzo now has access to your policy renewal information which most certainly will be used to target you to sell you a competitive policy or gain revenue somehow.
I don’t mind a feature to help with remembering policy renewal dates, but calling it connected is a straight up lie.

I appreciate the comments are laser focused on me as an individual rather than Monzo’s use of wording and the new feature I was intending to discuss so I’ll just let you guys trash it out amongst yourselves.
