Fixing a old P1 Silvexa

Last week I bought a non-working P1 Silvexa (~1960). It took a bit of research, patience, and careful tinkering, but I finally got it working again.

The piston was completely seized from years of dried ink. I started by soaking the pen in warm water to soften and dissolve some of the buildup. After that, I applied a little gentle heat and was able to separate the filling unit from the barrel. Once I cleaned everything out, the piston freed up and after adding some grease it started moving smoothly again.

I'm really happy with how it turned out. The pen now fills and writes beautifully. There's something incredibly satisfying about bringing an old fountain pen back to life!

My MB's at the moment

Left to right;

Caresse 492 ballpoint (~1977)

2x Meisterstuck 126 (~1975)

Meisterstuck163 rollerball burgundy (1989)

I love the bordeaux/burgundy color of the 163. It writes amazing and is a beauty. The reason it is my edc pen.

The 126 is on another level. The flexible nib adds character and makes writing more mindful. It adds the feeling every word you write matters.

Can anyone tell me more about this LAMY CP1 Platinum 253 ballpoint?

Hi everyone,

I recently picked up this LAMY CP1 Platinum 253 ballpoint and I'm trying to learn more about it.

I've searched online but found surprisingly little information. Most results are old product listings, and I haven't been able to find much about when it was produced, how common it is, or where it fits in the CP1 lineup.

From what I've gathered, it seems to have a platinum-finished guilloché body and the classic slim CP1 design, but that's about all I know.

Does anyone here own one, have catalog information, or know anything about its history? Was it a regular production model, a special finish, or perhaps discontinued a long time ago?

I've attached some photos. Thanks in advance for any information! :)
