It is official that ND schools are out of the Federal Student Aid Program - Professional Degree status.

Who’s the one to blame 😒? (Sarcasm)

But hey … they want more donations 🙄. AANP, AANMC and CNME schools will never blame themselves. They did this to themselves.

I don’t believe that AANP and the schools will be fully transparent about low NPLEX passing rates, jobs opportunities and income salary. Being fully transparent the schools will disappear because with this crazy economy, who will want to be in debt with a jobless career?

Sonoran University, ND funding.

Hello all!

My close friend is looking into attending Sonoran University to pursue her ND over 3 years. She’s currently looking at funding options through Scholarship Owl, Unigo, In-house scholarships provided by Sonoran and whatever else we can find.

I’m looking for any advice or guidance from individuals who are currently in attendance or have attended and what options you pursued for funding. Any tips yall found that may help lighten the financial burden are greatly appreciated.

I’ve seen the “Not worth it” and “scam” responses so please refrain if those types of answers are all thats offered. She’s very passionate about this field and I hope to get some good info to pass along. Thank you!

AANMC forgot that owning a private practice isn’t the same as employment and the timeline doesn’t make any sense.

“77% of alumni found work within 6 months”

First of all, after graduation let’s say in May you have to wait until August and later wait if you passed the NPLEX Test in September that’s nearly 5 months of being unable to work as an ND.

Another scenario let’s say you didn’t pass NPLEX, you will have to wait until February and finding out in March for the results. That’s almost a year where you can’t even work as an ND.

Also, NPLEX is not even regulated as USMLE in medical school. You must pass USMLE during second year of medical school, if you don’t pass USMLE YOU CANT GO TO YOUR CLINICAL ROTATIONS and you get academically dismissed until you pass USMLE. Likewise to NDs school if a students don’t pass NPLEX I during second year, they still can go to their clinical rotations.

Also my other 2 cents here is that “77 percent find a job in less than 6 months” that number seems pretty low comparing to other healthcare careers doctorate level where 90 to 100 percent of students found work before a year of graduation.

The real numbers in that survey should say “77 percent of alumni didn’t find job within 6 months after graduation”

Please let me know if you know anything about naturopathy as a career.

Hi everyone!

I was wondering if becoming a naturopath is worth it it’s another 4 years of school after my undergrad,

Is the money worth it? I know at least in Ontario the school is quite expensive, do naturopaths make good money right out of school?

If you are a naturopath what discipline makes the most? I was considering the skin care area, or the pain management area for muscles and sports injuries.

Is this job over saturated? Is there enough demand?

I’m weighing my options between this and acupuncture, chiropractor, physiotherapist, osteopathic manual practitioner, and even a optometrist lol

Just wondering if this schooling is worth it for the job?

This is what I can’t stand AANP. A young - naive applicant will see this and think that working as an ND will earn so much money and the debt will worth.

This wasn’t in my bingo card 🤢 how sickening is this “Pole” making OF content with his mom. Credit to Shabooty.

Hello!

I am from the PNW and considering attending the NUNM in a few years. I was wondering if the Naturopathic Medicine courses have a solid curriculum on the world of Rheumatology / Rheumatic Disease? This area of medicine interest, solidified by my experience personally as a patient. I love the way my Physician Assistant operates and her personal impact in my care, including integrative natural therapies.

Not quite sure if heard of many NDs specializing in rheumatology all together but I would love to hear insight. What do you think about a future N.D doing this? Do you think I would get a lot of push back by local rheumatologists?

My interests in help aiding in treatment include Spondyloarthritis, Enteropathic Arthritis, Rheumatoid and Osteoarthritis, Fibromyalgia and Ehlers Danlos syndrome..
