Kane deserves the Ballon d’Or by far…

I’ve seen some posts about Mbappe being Ballon d’Or favourite?!? Can anyone justify this? Haaland isn’t even being mentioned in the ballondor conversation despite a having a better season than Mbappe. But Haaland aside, Harry Kane is so far ahead of those two this season and has been the best player in the world. I find it very hard to see an argument against Kane for Ballond’Or and I can’t see any argument for Mbappe.

Harry Kane has POTENTIALLY 10 games left to have the highest scoring season ever.

Harry Kane has POTENTIALLY 10 games left to have the highest scoring season ever.

The most goals in a season ever is Gerd Muller in 1971/1972 with 84 in all competitions including friendlies, starting from the first official game of the 1971/1972 season to the last game before the 1972/1973 season officially begun. So Kane would need 11 in those possible remaining games to match the all time record.

Harry Kane so far is on 73 goals. The third highest ever behind Messi’s 82 and Muller’s 84. He has a POTENTIAL 5 more World Cup games this season if England were able to reach the final and 5 friendlies planned through July and August before the first official 2026/2027 game: Franz Beckenbauer Supercup final on 22 August.

So Kane has POTENTIALLY 10 games left to score 9 goals to match the season record for this century before the first official game of the 2026/2027 season begins.

[OC] Oldest person born in each year

This graph shows the longest-lived deceased person from each birth year between 1841 and 1909, using validated longevity records (some years have no data).

The upward trend shows each successive generation generally produced older record-holders. Living supercentenarians and people born after 1909 were excluded to avoid incomplete records.

The reason for 1841-1909 is because records are scarce pre 1840s and the current oldest person alive was born in 1909.

US stadiums are putting Premier League stadiums to shame.

US stadiums are putting Premier League stadiums and football stadiums in general to shame…

I love football and my point is not to belittle the best league in the world, but to point out that premier league stadiums NEED to improve. These World Cup stadiums in the US are truly world class. The 28th biggest US stadium would be the 3rd biggest UK stadium. Chelsea for example, are a bigger club than every US sports team yet their stadium would be the 130th biggest in the US.

The Premier league is the biggest and best sports league in the world. The worlds superstar athletes should be playing in world class stadiums. Football stadiums really need to step up their game and improve. I know land is more scarce in England but the culture of obsession with keeping 1950s stands that are leaking rattling and rotting away, as opposed to upgrading to world class stadiums like in the US is ridiculous.

Seeing Birmingham City build a 60k stadium in the championship is refreshing, but as the biggest sports franchises in the world, premier league stadiums desperately need upgrading and improving. Most of the current stadiums are becoming run down stadiums of the past. Even the lower capacity US stadiums are far superior in regards to technology.

I know this might not be a popular opinion, and many people will call these stadiums “soulless bowls”, but I think that’s an outdated mindset and with the fanbases in England I think they would be amazing. What do you think?

European Trophy winners per league

Very interesting graphic showing how many clubs from each of the top five leagues have won Europe’s 3 main trophies.

The data was checked by human but put into an infographic with AI to help visualise the data.

Harry Kane is having the 4th best scoring season in football history…

He is also one of just four players from Europe’s top 5 leagues ever to score over 60 goals for club and country and he has one game left for Bayern plus a World Cup to go…

Edit: I should have mentioned that this is for 21st century, as Dixie Dean and Gerd Muller also have done it.
