Can Capgemini B1 HR ignore my old ₹2.5 LPA salary if I have recent freelance experience?
Hi everyone,
I'm interviewing for the Capgemini B1 (Associate Consultant) role and need some advice on salary negotiation.
I have 2 years of experience. My last full-time corporate salary was ₹2.5 LPA, but for the past 5 months I've been working as a freelance consultant on an Environmental Pollution Monitoring System. The project pays a lump sum at the end, so I don't have monthly payslips.
My questions:
- Will HR base my offer only on my old ₹2.5 LPA salary, or can they consider my freelance AI experience/project payout?
- Is it realistic to negotiate for ₹6–8 LPA?
- If I receive another offer before Capgemini releases theirs, can I use it during salary negotiations?
Would appreciate any insights from people who've gone through Capgemini's hiring process. Thanks!
