DCPs whose parents picked donors for traits (looks, IQ, athleticism) — how was that choice explained to you, and how do you feel about it now?
Hi all — just read this WIRED piece about teens who feel like "walking science experiments" because their parents selected donors for specific traits like musicality or height (link). I searched the archive and couldn't find this angle discussed, so:
Did your parents choose your donor for looks, intelligence, or talent rather than mainly health? How was that choice framed to you, and did it shape how you see yourself?
Anything in the article that resonates — or contradicts your experience? Hope this is ok to ask. Thanks!
