I need to book the Inverness>King Cross service on 2 November but all LNER trains from Inverness are showing as unavailable. Trains are available on later dates. Does anyone know if there is something happening on the line out of Inverness on that date?

EDIT: In answer to all of the ‘you are too early’ posts… no I’m not. I’ve already booked the journey to Inverness on 27 October and looking at the website, I’m able to book the Inverness>Kings Cross direct train for most other dates up to 17 December.

Odeon at Maidstone seems to have very limited screenings over the weekend and none at all Monday to Thursday next week.

Does anyone know why? Hopefully it’s to fix the aircon that was clearly not working last weekend!

I am trying to determine if an estate is an Excepted Estate or I need to complete an IHT400.

My father died in 2003 leaving his entire estate to my mother. She has recent passed away and I am the executor.

Her estate is about £100,000 in cash, £6,000 in premium bonds and a house worth about £440,000. It is being left to my sister and me.

It is clearly above the IHT threshold of £325,000 so on the face of it the IHT400 is required but we can also use the unused allowance on the death of my father. So there will be no IHT to pay even without claiming the Resident Nil Rate allowance.

Do I still need to complete the IHT400?
