I realized I was a fictionkin a few weeks ago. I feel like I'm not worthy of being one or that I'm not close enough to my kin all the time. Whenever I speak I think "[Source version of kin] doesn't act like this". I feel even worse around fictives of my kin because I feel lesser than them, like they have more of the source character in them than I do. I don't hate doubles, It's just hard for me to act like myself around them.

Small comments questioning me have become mountains in my eyes. Whenever someone questions if I'm smart enough I feel fake because my source character would never have a comment like that directed towards them. I just feel horrible all the time and the euphoria of dressing like the source version of my kjn isn't enough.

Saw a lot of misinfo around, so I'll explain the full thing.

• What is even going on?

Lightshade.cloud, a CAI alternative, has recently added a poll to their website asking if they should keep NSFW (as in, sex) or not.

• Why is Lightshade doing this?

Lightshade has had issues with creators making CSAM content (as in, lewd underage bots) using their NSFW BYOK feature for a while. The model provider, Kane, is upset that the developers spend most of their time checking what the CSAM filter caught instead of working on Lightshade. So yes, there is already a filter and an anti-CSAM AI in place detecting violations.

Kane believes removing NSFW entirely will eliminate this problem, and said they will remove their models from Lightshade if NSFW stays. They have not spoken since their ultimatum. Kane has provided 40k+ USD worth of hardware for Lightshade, and them leaving would be disastrous for Lightshade.

• What's happening in the discord?

90% of staff in the discord are under 18, with the (former) admin Singularity being 13. Singularity has since retired, but other staff remain. Most staff are just saying what they believe instead of what the Lightshade devs believe, and have acted immaturely as a result.

Recently, the staff have had numerous issues with communication, both with the userbase and the developers. The discord staff have 0 control over Lightshade itself or involvement in its development, and only say what they assume the devs think when asked about Lightshade related decisions.

There are other testimonies of mistreatment by staff, staff abusing power, staff calling people subhuman, etc. I can't confirm these myself, but I have noticed the staff acting very biased and unprofessionally.

Overall, the situation is extremely messy. Staff seemed to have been biased since the start. And as a reminder, the discord staff are not devs. All devs appear to be over 18.

UPDATE: good news! NSFW is staying, and the staff will be changed. Main dev has also come to an agreement with Kane, but the agreement details are unknown right now.

Correction: Singularity's #NONSFW thing was also to prevent people from asking them for NSFW related help.
