Need clarity for my chomu heart
26M from Gurgaon(currently in noida), am I overthinking this?
Hey, I’m 26M, born and brought up in Gurgaon. I’ve become pretty introverted over the years, partly because my ex completely fucked my confidence. After getting dumped by someone you genuinely loved, it feels like you somehow lose your ability to talk to people.
Anyway, that’s not really the point.
For the last 1.5 months, I was talking to a girl from my office. She was serving her notice period, and in person she was extremely comfortable with me, patar-patar talking all day. Eventually, we started going on walks and talking a lot, and I genuinely enjoyed it.
She left the company recently, so now it’s mostly chats. And I’m honestly terrible at texting. I like conversations to have some flow, and I prefer calls.
But her replies started coming after 10–15 minutes, even when I could see she was online. I know logically that being online doesn’t mean being available, but my stupid brain starts thinking, “Am I really that boring/hard to talk to?”
For the last two days she’s been travelling and getting tired, so now the replies are coming after 2–3 hours, which makes me overthink even more. 😭
I know people have their own lives and I’m probably expecting too much, but when you genuinely enjoy talking to someone, waiting hours for a reply feels horrible.
So, girls of Reddit….is this completely normal, or am I just reading way too much into response times? 🙃
