Boys Ranch Texas

Hi, I hope this is an okay to post this. I saw a job listing for Lead House Parent at the Boys Ranch main location in Amarillo, Texas. As I was going through the website, I felt moved, like this was a special job I could do well as I love and connect well with kids and am easy to talk to and understanding. I interpreted this as a sort of foster care system that I would be helping create a safe, supportive and pleasant home environment for a group of kids who needed it. A lot of my friends grew up in really rough ways and a couple of them were in and out of foster care. When I started to look the boys ranch up on Reddit, I realized that my interpretation of this place was way different than what it is. I didn't realize it was one of these terrible places and am disturbed by its history. Now I'm wondering if I should apply though. Is it possible to be a good caretaker in this system? Or is this something I should steer clear of? I don't know anything about these types of things so would really appreciate any insight. PS - I'm not sure if I'd even be considered for the position because I'm a 28 year old woman.. Thank you in advance<3 Sending you all love
