Hi everyone

I’d like to hear from Rottweiler owners who have sadly lost their dogs. I’m trying to better understand the common causes and age patterns in the breed.
Did your Rottweiler pass away from old age, or did they develop any serious illnesses such as cancer (especially Osteosarcom or other types)?
If you’re comfortable sharing, at what age did it happen, and what were the first signs you noticed?

I’m genuinely curious about something and would like someone to explain it to me because I’ve never really come across this before.
I keep seeing Facebook groups called things like “Adoption & Rescue Great Dane” and similar, and honestly I don’t fully understand how this kind of “adoption” works when it comes to Great Danes.

As far as I know, Great Danes are a purebred breed, so I’m confused about why and how they end up in rescue/adoption groups in the first place. Are these abandoned dogs, dogs rescued from breeders, rehoming situations, or something else entirely?
I’m simply curious about how these groups actually work and what’s really behind those posts and ads.

If anyone has experience with this or understands how it works, I’d genuinely appreciate an explanation.
