About to sign on apartment but found out someone was murdered in the neighborhood
honestly, don’t know how else to explain it I feel like the title says everything.
I 25f found the perfect apartment in a triplex. it was pretty popular at the viewing . 2 bedrooms all inclusive, balcony, backyard it checks off everything that I’ve wanted in an apartment while also in my price range. the area isn’t the nicest but its also not the worst. Its downtown so there’s some drug addicts and homelessness as expected. I asked people from the area they said it’s a safe neighbourhood and not too worry.
did one more deep dive before signing. someone was stabbed to death about 5 houses down from the triplex one year ago. 74 yr old man. he passed way unfortunately. they did not know each other apparently the man that stabbed him was not mentally well and got in trouble with the police a lot. the police shot him on scene so he passed way as well.
im now second thinking everything obviously as anyone would/should. it’s obvious I can’t take this apartment now and have to back out, right?
